Chhath Puja 2022: Special Trains to Operate by Indian Railways

In view of the auspicious occasion of Chhath Puja, the Indian Railways has decided to run several special trains on high-rush routes.

Different Railway zones will operate many new services from the cities of Delhi, Ranchi, Ferozepur, Amritsar, Jabalpur, Indore, Ahmedabad and Nanded for people travelling to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Highlights

1– To manage the extra rush of passengers during Chhath Puja, the Northern Railway has announced several special Express trains. You can refer to the official tweet below for more details –

2– The North Eastern Railway will be operating two special trains between Chhapra and Panvel. Each of these services will take only one trip.
Train no. 05193 will depart from Chhapra on 1st November, and train no. 05194 will depart from Panvel on 2nd November.

3– The South Central Railway also tweeted about the special trains which it will be running on some prominent routes.

About Chhath Puja

Chhath Puja is an auspicious festival that is celebrated mainly in Bihar, Jharkhand and Eastern Uttar Pradesh. The four-day-long festival starts with the ‘Nahai Khai’ ritual and ends with ‘Usha Arghya’ (prayers to the rising sun). Chhath Puja is dedicated to Surya Bhagwan (Sun God).
