COVID-19: Tirupati Temple Issues Advisory; Arunachal Pradesh Bans Foreign Tourists

Due to the growing cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) being reported in India, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), has issued an advisory asking foreigners, NRIs and others to not visit the Lord Venkateshwara shrine in Andhra Pradesh for the first 28 days after landing in India.

As per the latest reports, tourists who have booked darshan tickets and accommodation at Tirumala will be refunded in case they want to cancel their journey. The officials have also appealed the devotees to carry hand sanitizers and masks as a precautionary measure.

Along with this, Arunachal Pradesh has now banned the entry of foreign tourists as a precautionary measure against COVID-19.

The state government has temporarily stopped issuing Protected Area Permits (PAPs), therefore exempting the entry of foreign tourists in the state. It is to be noted that PAPs are required by foreign tourists to visit Arunachal Pradesh.

The notification does not mention when the permit-issuance will resume.
