Destination Address Mandatory for Those Travelling on Special Trains

Passengers travelling in the special trains that have become operational since May 12 will now have to mandatorily provide their destination address while booking tickets.

Recording the destination address of passengers will become a permanent feature for rail travel in the near future as India gears up for a long battle with the virus. Railway officials said that keeping the coronavirus crisis in mind, it will be mandatory for passengers to fill up their address details for any bookings.

In the meantime, the Railways has cancelled all train ticket bookings made till June 30. However, the Shramik special trains and the 15 special trains that started on May 12 will continue to operate.
