Cavala The Seaside Resort

If you’re in Goa and want to experience a Portuguese-inspired heritage property that truly captures the real Goan vibe, this is the place to be. From the moment you step in, the entire space is filled with nostalgia and old-world charm.The service is warm and attentive, the food is excellent, and every detail adds to the overall experience. Friday nights here are simply amazing and make the stay even more special.Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience Goa beyond the usual.

Overall, this hotel is nice, its a good location, the staff were very polite and friendly, the room was a decent size and the room refreshments were replenished daily. However, the reasons for the 4*'s is as followed:1) the main reason for the 4* - upon our arrival which was a Friday, we were made aware that there would be a live band from 9:30pm. Whilst this band was brilliant what let the venue down is that they failed to mention that a DJ would have a set/ party after the band which would likely go into the early hours of the morning. We left the party at 11:30pm unfortunately, 3hrs later I was leaving our room in my pajamas to ask how much longer the party would be going on for. Our room was vibrating badly due to the excessive volume of the speakers and bass and both my partner and I were unable to get to sleep. We'd already had a very long day travelling to Goa at this stage and were very tired. I am all for everyone having a good time and party but some consideration to the guests at the hotel wouldn't have gone a miss. It was a hotel after all not a club. After I had spoken to who I presumed was the manager, but who could also have possibly been the owner, the music was turned down and our room wasn't vibrating as much but the party did still continue to 3am. Sadly, the knock on effect of the this disruption was a serious lack of sleep for us both which greatly impacted our first full day in Goa. We did get several apologies in the morning from staff and management along with the reassurance that the music only happens on Friday's. This wasn't really mentioned anywhere on the reviews so I feel it worth mentioning for future potential guests as well as to the establishment. If you don't want to impacted by the music I would recommend you request a room a far away from the bar as possible. Truthfully, if my review rating was based soley on this experience ny rating would have been significantly lower but I did feel that the establishment redeemed themselves and were genuinely sorry for the disruption.2) Breakfast- whilst some booking options advise there is breakfast buffet, there is not it is a set menu for veg or non-veg. The breakfast food quality is good however it is essentially your choice of eggs (omelette, fried, scrambled), 1 small hash brown, either Pineapple or Watermelon (decided by the chef on the day) and a chicken sausage if you've chosen the non- veg option. I cannot comment on the veg option as I never had this. Again just for potential guests to be aware of.3) Whilst the overall location is good, it is not on the beach front as possibly advertised/ implied. The beach is a good 10- 15 minute walk depending on your walking pace. This wasn't a deal breaker for us as overall, as we were close to a variety of shops, restaurants, bars and the beach. But again something to be aware of when booking if you're after something that is on the beach. Additionally, the pool was no on site as such it was a 2 minute walk to a sister property of the hotel. The pool was very clean and a good size but just something else to factor in.

Good hotel this one. Friendly staff and level of service. Nice peaceful pool outback. Not the best location though. Good walk to the beach or anywhere else for that matter. And the bar is not cheap either. But enjoyed our stay. Not sure I would go back though.

Lovely experience at Cavala resort..’’The Owners and staff were very warm and hospitable.The staff Mr Sameer and Amit were very helpful .The rooms were very clean and have an old world portugese charm ..the property is surrounded by lovely greenery and is home to various birds..its just a 5 min walk from the beach.. The hotel also arranges for cabs which are at the property itself which makes travelling within Goa very easy.The food was freshly cooked and sumptious..all in all we had a great time and will definately visit again’’

This is our 3rd time at Cavala. The last one was about 15 years ago. The place still has its charm. The room with balcony facing the backyard fields is a pleasure to stay. We could spot 10 different kinds of birds with a family of barn owls staring at us everytime. The friday evening live music party was awesome. Staff is really friendly. Would definitely recommend Cavala if you are at North Goa.
