Nice hotel

This is by far the worst Marriott hotel I've ever visited. Apart from acceptable cleanliness, everything else falls short. The rooms have a strong unpleasant smell, and even with air purifiers, the balcony is overwhelmed by a heavy cigarette smell. The hot water never really gets hot, and the towels are old and worn. The elevator is tiny and slow, causing long waits; the hotel really needs at least two more elevators to manage the guest load. The worst issue was the bathroom door jamming during my stay. A serious safety concern: if you're alone, always bring your phone into the bathroom because if the door sticks, you'll be trapped with no way to call for help. Not recommended at all. Also, my room was located far from the elevator and stairs, which seems very risky in case of an emergency.

I checked into Marriott Bilaspur on 28-06-2026 around 9:30 AM. At reception, I was told the standard check-in time is 3:00 PM and early check-in would cost about ₹2,500 plus taxes. I agreed and paid extra, expecting to fully enjoy the room and its amenities during my stay. However, in Room No. 223, the TV did not have regular news channels like ABP News or Aaj Tak, and movie channels were also not working. I reported this twice to reception. Two different staff members visited at separate times but could not fix the issue. The problem remained unresolved until I checked out. Marriott is a well-known brand, and guests expect quality service. When paying extra for early check-in, basic amenities like TV channels should work, and complaints should be addressed promptly. This poor response and unresolved problem was disappointing and impacted my overall experience. Marriott’s reputation suffers from such service failures. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves room service and complaint handling.
