We have stayed at De Grand on two occasions, and each time was somewhat different. The first stay was in a Deluxe Room, which was small but clean, well-kept, and had a cozy atmosphere. The second stay was in a Standard Room, which was less comfortable. The room was quite small, and the two single beds were pushed together to form one bed, which was not very comfortable and made for a poor night's sleep. The bathroom was acceptable, and the service was good. The complimentary breakfast was also quite nice and a welcome addition. Overall, the hotel is well-maintained with good service. I would suggest choosing the Deluxe Room for a more comfortable experience.

About 6 or 7 years ago, this hotel was good. Now, they seem to cater more to bar patrons. Families might want to avoid this place. There were intoxicated people lying right outside the entrance.
