My experience was not as expected.The washroom was not clean and had several water stain marks, making it look below hotel standards. I also faced issues with the flush, which was not working properly. The room AC was malfunctioning as well. Although I contacted room service and the issue was attended to, the same problem occurred again.The location of the hotel is also not very appealing. The breakfast quality was below average, and the room service staff did not seem professional.If you are looking for a budget-friendly stay, I would recommend exploring other options first. The breakfast and snacks were good, and the overall room quality was satisfactory for the stay.However, there were frequent electricity interruptions during my visit, which caused inconvenience. The bathroom was not properly cleaned and needs better maintenance. In addition, there is no parking facility available, which can be difficult for guests traveling by vehicle. With improvements in cleanliness, power reliability, and parking arrangements, the hotel could provide a much better experience.

We stayed at Hotel Midland in Ujjain for three days. Our checkout time on the third day was 9:00 AM, and the full payment had already been made in advance. There was no pending payment from our side.At around 7:00 AM, I went to Mangalnath Temple with my mother. My mother was not feeling well, but since this was our first visit to Ujjain, both of us wanted to have darshan. She took her medicines and accompanied me to the temple.When we returned to the hotel, the staff/manager informed us that we would have to pay an extra ’1,000. We had not received any call, message, or reminder from the hotel asking whether we were checking out or extending our stay. In normal hotel management, the staff should at least call the guest once and remind them about the checkout time before demanding extra charges.The most unreasonable part was that our delay was only around three hours, but they were demanding the charge for a full day. If the full-day charge is ’1,000, why should a guest be asked to pay the full amount for only a few extra hours? Even then, I paid ’500, which I honestly feel was also not justified.Initially, they kept insisting that ’1,000 had to be paid. Later, they said, ’Okay, you pay ’500, and I will take the remaining ’500 from the traveler.’ This was completely inappropriate because the traveler had no role in this matter. There was no reason to involve them or demand money from them.This entire situation felt unfair and unprofessional, as if extra money was being extracted from the customer without proper communication or a reasonable policy. When I explained to the manager that my mother was not feeling well, his response was very insensitive. He said, ’Why did you take her to the temple? You should have taken her to a hospital or doctor.’ This was an inappropriate and disrespectful way to speak to a customer, especially someone who was with an unwell mother.Overall, my experience was very disappointing. The hotel management should seriously look into the staff’s behavior, their lack of communication, and the way extra charges are being demanded from customers. Guests should be treated with basic courtesy, empathy, and professionalism.
