Ibex Resorts, Valparai (Tale Rock)

I had a wonderful time here. The location is stunning, and the views from the property are breathtaking, especially when you just sit and absorb the environment. What made the visit even more special were the wildlife sightings around the area. We were fortunate to see elephants and birds during our stay, which was a delightful surprise. The property is calm and serene, far from the usual hustle and bustle. The rooms were cozy, the place was well kept, and the overall vibe was very relaxing. It was nice to spend a few days without feeling rushed. In summary, it was a very pleasant stay with gorgeous views, tranquil surroundings, and some unforgettable wildlife experiences. I would definitely love to return!

A lovely spot offering stunning views, and we were fortunate to see some wildlife nearby. The entire area was serene and tranquil. We enjoyed our stay a lot!

Honestly, this stay was quite underwhelming, especially given we paid around ₹12,000 for a mountain-view room. The location is definitely stunning, with the forest surroundings being the property's biggest plus, but the overall experience didn't match the price. From the moment we arrived, the experience was lacking. There was no proper welcome, and the manager didn't seem professional. The entrance and common areas appeared poorly maintained. The room was average, but the curtains had noticeable stains and there was an unpleasant odor, making the stay uncomfortable. Service was another big problem. Even simple requests were met with promises to check with the manager, but often no follow-up happened. We had to keep reminding staff for basic things. Food options were very limited, especially for vegetarians, and service was very slow. The property feels more like a basic homestay with a fixed buffet than a resort charging ₹12,000 per night. I recommend checking recent guest reviews carefully instead of relying solely on Google or Goibibo photos, as the current condition seems quite different from many pictures shown. The location is excellent, but unfortunately that's the only major positive. At this price, I expected much better cleanliness, upkeep, and hospitality. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless the property improves significantly.

I had high hopes due to the location and online photos, but the reality was quite different. Paying about ₹12,000 for a mountain-view room felt overpriced for what the property currently offers. The setting within the forest is lovely and the views are probably the best feature. Sadly, the upkeep and hospitality don't live up to the surroundings. The welcome was lacking, the entrance appeared neglected, and the manager's attitude didn't inspire confidence. The room was usable but not up to the standard I expected for the price. Curtains were dirty and stained, and there was an unpleasant odor. Cleanliness and maintenance clearly need improvement. Staff also require better guest service skills. We had to repeatedly follow up on simple requests, and there was little proactive assistance. Food options were limited, especially for vegetarians, and wait times were excessive. Overall, it feels like a homestay charging resort prices due to its location. The online photos seem to give a much better impression than the current reality, so I recommend checking recent reviews and pictures before booking. Beautiful location, but unfortunately that's mostly where the positives end. At ₹12,000 per night, I expected much better cleanliness, service, and management. I can't recommend it as it is now.

The stay was very disappointing and definitely not worth the ₹12,000 cost. Right from the start, the experience was poor — the manager, who seemed intoxicated, did not greet us properly, and the entrance appeared shady and poorly kept. The rooms were acceptable, but the curtains were stained and seemed unwashed for years. There was also a strong unpleasant odor in the room, likely due to cleaning with a dirty mop. The service was probably the worst aspect. Almost every request was met with "we will check with the manager," but no one ever followed up. We had to repeatedly ask even for simple things like a glass or starters. The food choices were very limited, especially for vegetarians, and the service was extremely slow. The place felt more like a basic homestay with a fixed buffet than a proper resort. Overall, the property is poorly maintained and the staff clearly lack basic hospitality and guest service skills. Also, don't trust the photos on Google or Goibibo blindly — many seem to be old pictures from when the property first opened, as the current condition is quite different. The only positive is the location within the forest area. Other than that, ₹12,000 for a mountain-view room is completely unjustified. It feels like a local homestay charging resort prices just because of the location. I would honestly not recommend this place to anyone.
