Excellent stay! Friendly staff, beautiful gardens, clean and comfortable room, and the food! Oh my the food! Soo delicious. Some of the best I have had in India and I have been traveling in India for 12 years. This place is very special. I highly recommend it.

The location is perfect, surrounded by nature, with a beautiful atmosphere and stunning sunsets.The service, however, is average. In the restaurant, you often need to call the waiter to clear dirty plates, which is not what you expect from a hotel of this level.The spa is excellent ’ very professional staff and high-quality treatments. This was definitely one of the highlights of our stay.The biggest disappointment was the room allocation. The hotel did not provide the room we booked and paid for, even though the reservation was made well in advance. We booked a lake-view villa, but upon arrival we were given a connected room shared with other guests. After long and exhausting negotiations, we were finally moved to a villa, but instead of a lake view, it faced the pool area.No compensation was offered ’ only empty apologies.Please be very careful when booking this hotel and double-check the room type you are paying for.

We checked into the hotel expecting exactly what we had booked: a private villa with a lake view ’ a place to slow down, take in the beauty, and finally relax.Instead, we were shown a lake-view room that turned out to be a shared villa, with a common terrace and immediate neighbors. It was not what we had reserved and not the experience we were looking for. We explained this right away, but resolving the issue took time.Time that mattered.While we were moving, waiting, and clarifying, we missed the sunset. We missed the ceremony. Moments we had been looking forward to ’ and which cannot be repeated.Eventually, we were offered a different villa, this time with a pool view. Comfortable, yes ’ but not what we had originally chosen or paid for. From the very beginning, we did not receive what was promised.Unfortunately, this situation overshadowed our first impression of the hotel and affected our mood from the start. When you arrive seeking calm and beauty, having to negotiate basics is the last thing you expect.

We stayed at Kumarakom Lake Resort from 15th to 17th January 2026, Friday to Sunday, for two nights and three days, and this was our second visit. Just like the first time, it exceeded expectations in every possible way.The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and extremely comfortable. The private pool is generously sized, the open shower adds a lovely touch, and everything feels thoughtfully planned and well maintained. It is the kind of place where you instantly slow down.The food deserves a special mention. There is an excellent spread with a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, all prepared with great care and consistency. Every meal felt indulgent without being heavy.The staff and service truly elevate the experience. The team is extremely well trained, warm, attentive, and always ready to help without being intrusive. You genuinely feel looked after throughout your stay.We loved the overall vibe of the resort. The speedboat ride, kayaking, poetry sessions, and even the massage experience were all beautifully curated and added so much character to the stay. Every activity felt calm, immersive, and thoughtfully executed.Kumarakom Lake Resort is one of those rare places that manages to feel luxurious, peaceful, and soulful all at once. We absolutely love this place and will keep coming back. Highly recommended for anyone looking to truly unwind and experience Kerala at its finest.

The best hotel we have stayed in. The experience from the check-in to the entire stay was filled with anticipation and service. It's a self contained resort and two restaurants with great food both local and international. Variety is awesome.Rooms are luxurious and comfy. Our room was along the meadering pool that was like our own private pool.The hotel was at a busy season and it had the efficiency of a well run world class hotel.Enjoyed the snacks in a tea stall style garden offering. The boat ride which is a sunset cruise with beautiful live mridangam and flute performance was the best way to experience the Vemanad lake.In the evening the restaurant had a live performance of mohiniyattam a classic Indian dance along with a huge variety of food.The whole family enjoyed activities, lamp lighting, pottery, mahendi, caricature, yoga and the gym.The hotel has a Ayurvedic spa which was great.Definitely worth considering for your trip to Kerala or if you live out of India plan a trip here. Good for both families with kids and couples.
