Wonderful experience

We had a nice stay and really enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and the rooms were tidy.

I booked Le Villagio Domes, Wayanad after seeing many beautiful Instagram reels. The unique dome design looked amazing, and I was really excited to try something different. My expectations were very high based on what I saw online. Sadly, the reality was quite disappointing. The problems began as soon as we arrived. The entrance to the property is very narrow, making it hard for cars to enter easily. More importantly, the resort isn’t wheelchair-friendly or convenient for elderly guests. There are stairs almost everywhere. Even to get to the restaurant for breakfast, you have to climb about three floors. There is no elevator, which was especially tough for my diabetic mother and would be even harder for anyone with mobility challenges. We stayed in one of the domes. Although the room looked nice, it wasn’t as spacious as it seemed online. I was traveling with my mother and baby boy, and the room felt a bit tight for three people. It seems better suited for couples than families. The bathroom was another big letdown. It was very small, and the glass shower enclosure was extremely cramped. Being a larger person, I found it uncomfortable to use. I even had to step outside the shower enclosure to use the handheld shower because there wasn’t enough room inside. The hot water system was frustrating too. I can’t shower in cold water, but no one explained how it worked at check-in. To get hot water, I had to turn the tap fully to hot, wait for the hot water to come, then adjust it back to a comfortable temperature. It took me a while to figure this out, which was unnecessarily annoying. Another problem that affected my stay was the smell inside the dome. The material used for the structure had a strong nylon or plastic-like odor. Even after burning incense I brought, the smell stayed. It gave me headaches and made me uncomfortable the whole time. If you have asthma, respiratory issues, or are sensitive to strong smells, this is something to keep in mind. The reception area is very small, and overall the property felt quite compact and enclosed, which made it a bit suffocating. Breakfast was probably the biggest disappointment. Considering the price I paid, I expected a much better dining experience. After climbing three floors to the restaurant, I was surprised there wasn’t enough food. The staff seemed to prepare very small amounts based on guest numbers. While I understand they want to reduce waste, as a paying guest I shouldn’t worry about food availability. Also, the food quality was poor. It was one of the worst hotel breakfasts I’ve had. Overall, the property may look beautiful in photos and social media, but my experience was very different. The concept is unique, but many practical issues affected our comfort and enjoyment. Accessibility is poor, rooms and bathrooms aren’t very practical, the dome odor was unpleasant, breakfast quality was below expectations, and the experience didn’t justify the price. Honestly, I was counting down the hours until checkout because I just wanted to leave. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the stay I hoped for, and I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

The stay was wonderful. I suggest this place if you want an ideal vacation with complete privacy. The dome is stunning and the staff are very welcoming.
