Rockit Cafe & Stay Palolem

Lovely location with tidy and comfortable rooms. The staff and owner were very welcoming and kind. Breakfast was delightful.

We stayed at Monsoon and visited Rockit Cafe, experiencing heavy rainfall while enjoying the natural beauty of Goa. The rooms were very spacious, tidy, and clean, and we had a great time.

Stayed near the beach, decent overall but not suitable for kids. The staff, especially in the restaurant, were not very helpful. Jessica at reception was supportive and made efforts to ensure a comfortable stay despite small ants and mosquitoes in the room. Breakfast was included and good. One issue: my husband and I had breakfast separately for a couple of days because our baby was uncomfortable in the restaurant. On checkout day, after my husband finished early, he asked me to request coffee be sent to our room since the baby was crying. The staff refused, saying it would cost extra, even though our room was right opposite the restaurant. This was very rude. We complained, but the restaurant staff remained unsupportive and unfriendly, always seeming unhappy, which is not good for hospitality. Parking was far from the accommodation, which was inconvenient. One night we were late arriving in the dark; the path to the resort was far and scary at night. My husband asked staff to pick us up while he parked, but no one came between midnight and 1am. I had to walk alone with my 5-month-old baby in a stroller. When asked, staff said they turned on the street light, which was unacceptable.

Had a really bad experience at Rockit cafe and stay Palolem. First, there is no proper parking; Google directs you to a public paid parking in front of the beach, then locals guide you through back roads to the stay. The road is narrow with no signs indicating their parking. We struggled a lot to park the car, and once parked, you can't use it for short trips—only at checkout can you take it since the parking is far and hard to access. It's a long walk to the stay, but luckily a guy helped us with luggage using a trolley. When we reached reception, the mood dropped because it didn't look like the pictures. The wooden cottages are fully wrapped in plastic to protect from rain, which ruins the ambiance, so why charge so much? It felt like living inside a plastic-covered room. The room was unclean with dust and spider webs; bathroom doors didn't close well. The AC can't be turned off because there's no switch inside and the remote doesn't work. Power went out 3-4 times and the generator took long to start. At 2 am, heavy rain was very loud due to poor roofing. The restaurant had only 4 customers including us. We were tired and ate indoors, which was a poor choice. Food was below average; snacks were okay. There were many mosquitoes, and they gave a coil/agarbatti. Drinks were cheap and the only good part. The location is close to the sea and backwater, about 5 minutes walk to the beach. The place is under renovation and smells bad near the beach access. Complimentary breakfast had some good items like bread omelette and egg bhurji, but puri bhaji was bad. Pancakes, which we paid extra for outside the complimentary breakfast, were actually crepes and tasted bad. Overall, don't be fooled by online pictures; they are only for summer. It's not worth paying so much to stay in plastic-covered rooms.

The stay was comfortable and the deluxe room really nice. Spacious and clean. It is on the beach which is a plus point during rainy season.
