Stayed here for 2 days and had a really good experience. The staff were really kind and made the stay very comfortable. Any issues, preferences etc were resolved efficiently. The food was great too. I wish the buffet had more continental options though for breakfast. Overall would recommend!

This was my 3rd stay at Avatar Hotel, Mangalore, and unfortunately this experience turned out to be the most disappointing and insulting hotel experience I have ever had.I was travelling with my wife and two kids (13 years and 3 years old). Since I had an important event to attend on the same day, I had called the hotel one day in advance and politely requested for an early check-in. I completely understand that hotels cannot always guarantee early check-in due to occupancy and checkout timings, so I was mentally prepared for some waiting time.However, even after reaching around 11:30 AM, the room was allocated only around 11:55 AM. Though this was slightly inconvenient, I was still okay with it because operational delays can happen.The real disappointment started with the restaurant experience.My package included meals, so I asked my family to have lunch at the hotel while I attended my event. According to my family, for every single order, the staff kept discussing among themselves and took an unusually long time to serve the food. What hurt the most was not the delay ’ it was the attitude and behaviour displayed towards them.The treatment given to my family genuinely made them feel as if they had come there to eat ’free food’ rather than being paying guests of the hotel. My elder son, who is extremely humble by nature and rarely complains about anything, actually felt insulted by the way they behaved. As a father, that was extremely painful to hear.When I raised this concern at the reception, instead of empathy and ownership, I was met with an attitude that is difficult to explain in words. Later, someone from the hotel tried to convince me at the reception, but by then the damage was already done. The interaction only made the experience worse.I must appreciate one gentleman from the hotel (Neelesh if I remember correctly )who called me later and spoke very professionally, despite it being his day off. That level of professionalism and concern was the only positive part of this experience, and I genuinely thank him for taking the effort.I travel extensively across the country at least 3 days a week and stay everywhere ’ from lodges to 5-star and even 7-star properties depending on the city and availability. Never in my life have I experienced such a feeling of disrespect towards my family.This kind of behaviour does not happen suddenly. It usually reflects deeper management issues where corrective actions are either delayed or ignored.I paid Avatar Hotel for comfort and hospitality, not to leave with my family feeling humiliated.The bed and surrounding was completely in dust I had request them to change the blankets as my younger son was feeling un easy.ALL THE GOOD AMBIENCE WITH ONE BAD EXPERIENCE FOR THE PEOPLE ATTITUDE HAS LOST THE RESPECTI sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves the attitude and sensitivity of the restaurant and front office staff, because no guest or family should ever feel this way.

Had a great stay and nice experience at the Avatar Hotel in Mangalore recently. The Hotel is at a central location in the city less than a kilometre from Mangalore Central with easy access to the city's main tourist spots and good restaurants. The rooms were modern, clean and great too. The highlight of my stay was the excellent service by the hotel staff (Ms. Jeena & Others) who were kind enough to offer me a complimentary room upgrade that was available and an additional mattress. Ms. Kimberly from the front desk even helped keep my baggage at the hotel safely when I had to check out early for an evening departure, ensuring a smooth and easy checkout. Will definitely stay here again.

A hotel that offers very comfortable stay, best in class facilities and services. We hosted an event here and had a big family group including kids staying at the Hotel so we used their accommodation and banquet facilities and the team exceeded expectations on all fronts. While the location, restaurant, rooms, banquet space, food and beverage are all top notch, what stands out is the exceptional quality of team managing the Hotel. A big shout-out to Ditesh, Sandra, Gagan, Nilesh, the front desk staff, housekeeping and the banquets team for their outstanding and efficient services to make our event a great success and our stay an extremely memorable one. Highly recommend Avatar to anyone looking for an accommodation option in Mangalore. It is equally suited for social and corporate requirements. We will definitely return.

However, a handful of guests noted that some room features (like bathroom fixtures or electronics) could use better maintenance.Service & Staff:This is where the hotel really shines. The staff are consistently described as friendly, helpful, and courteous ’ from reception to housekeeping. People point out specific team members who went out of their way to help, which says a lot about the culture at this property. Breakfast service ’ usually buffet with cooked-to-order options ’ also gets regular praise.Food & Extras:The in-house dining options, including The Loft restaurant and bar, get positive mentions for variety and quality. The attached convention centre and banquet spaces are a bonus if you’re in town for events or weddings. Just be aware that sound from events late into the night has disturbed some stays ’ something worth checking with front desk if you’re a light sleeper.Overall:This isn’t a cookie-cutter budget hotel ’ it’s a well-rounded option with thoughtful design, good service, and a central location. For most visitors, it’s a strong value pick in Mangaluru; just manage expectations around traffic noise or occasional room maintenance issues.
