The Bangala

The room was small, although the washroom was quite spacious. At The Bangala, you are essentially paying for the heritage experience and, of course, the food.The traditional Chettinad lunch served on a banana leaf was excellent, with every item being delicious. The fish, chicken and other dishes were all prepared in authentic Chettinad style. The food was on the expensive side, but the service was exceptionally attentive, with around five to seven staff taking care of the meal.The dinner arrangements were superb, with everything well organised, including the tables and wash area. The property itself is a wonderful place for photography, with its beautiful heritage character.The Bangala is about 15 minutes from Kanadukathan. Overall, the stay and the food experience were worth every penny. Congratulations to the team at The Bangala for preserving and maintaining such a wonderful heritage property and keeping the traditional Chettinad cuisine alive. It is certainly not an easy task.

Had a wonderful stay at The Bangala. The hospitality was excellent, staff were friendly, humble, and always ready to help. The rooms were spacious, and the entire place has a beautiful traditional feel.They took the time to explain their culture and customs, and even gave a guided walk through the mansion, which was very informative. The food was authentic and delicious, especially the orthodox sets of home made dishes. Overall, a memorable stay, would definitely visit again!

A lovely property, tastefully decorated with excellent room amenities. It’s a nice getaway place for a couple of nights. Not too much to do outside so you can enjoy the property. The food was delicious, authentic Chettinad cuisine. Overall, service was excellent.

Overpriced and underwerving, this place is a total letdown.Pricing: Highway Robbery- Rates are steep, with little to no justification for the quality offered.- ’1650 for two? More like ’1650 for meh.- Hidden charges and poor value for money.Food Quality: A Disaster- Chettinad cuisine was bland and uninspired.- Limited options, and what's served tastes like it’s been sitting around.- Service is slow, staff seem disinterested.Overall Experience: Underwhelming ’?- The resort feels overpriced for what you get.- Location’s potential is wasted with subpar service.- Skip this one; there are better options in Karaikudi.
