The Roseate Ganges Rishikesh

The place is beautiful and the best part is access to white sand beach and Ganges. The staff and service don't live up to the hype on the website and it is over priced for the experience. It does not even work and bad UX where there are deadends you cannot click further without exiting the app. Overall a place if you want to be away from hustle and closer to hills river and by yourself and ready to ask and nudge for everything you need. Automatically taking care of ur needs does not happen hereThe most disappointing thing is they claim bespoke and gourmet experiences in their website which they don't provide at all like white sand beach dinner and they do not even have permission for the same from government. There is nothing gourmet or bespoke about this place. A general experience.The property also has many things not working. Only one of the ACs have remote. You cannot control fan speed. Glasses on ceiling not cleaned in the bathroom. Spa room is not aerated with switching on AC before in spite of prior appointment. Same with sauna and steam. Had to ask specifically for those. The team did not know till when terrace door is open. The place is also having so many monkeys which swim in their pool, come into cafe which m nas they discourage you from ordering anything to eat at the cafe And there is no concept of obliging and making what is possible happen for the guest like they claim ayurveda consultation but that is only three days. For a guest who is not there those days they did not try hard to make it happen in spite of request.The innovation in menu and taste of food is good . Terrace is also beautiful. But unfortunately they don't let people have dinner there .only special private occasion decoration allowed. Given Rishikesh is a solo destination, they should have been more accommodating here.

We stayed two nights at Roseate Ganges and it was quite wonderful. The food was maybe the best we’ve had in a hotel of this standard. Fresh, innovative and super tasty. Will definitely try to come back.

I went to this hotel for rest and relaxation.Getting there is not easy, it’s a significant drive from Rishikesh through a mountain road that is not well maintained with heavy traffic. There were few road barriers down a steep cliff, there were fallen rocks and the road surface is uneven. People drive very badly on this treacherous road. I wonder what would happen in a medical emergency. How would one get out quickly?The rooms at the hotel are small but well appointed and clean. There is no closet space and the bathroom vanity is tiny.The staff are wonderful, kind, caring, accommodating and flexible. Highlight of the visit. But they are working with limits of the property setting.The view of the mountain is stunning. The air is crisp and clean. The sound of the river is just so powerful and soothing.The big challenge is that the property runs right next to the road and the noise of cars and honking is incessant. It was a huge problem in the first room I was given but after raising it, I got an upgrade to the presidential suite, which was very nice, spacious, well appointed, clean, quieter but still one can hear the cars and honking. The staff took especially good care of me. Thank you so much.The second challenge is that it’s hard to sit outside without being interrupted by monkeys. No food can be consumed outside and even if one doesn’t have food, the monkeys come up too close for comfort. Staff helped chase them away.The third challenge is that the property advertises ganga aarthi at the Ganges but it’s being done at the rooftop because it is a 300 step trek down a very steep hill to reach the Ganges. The priest is interested in receiving money, not in prayer. I did take a walk down to the Ganges accompanied by a very kind and caring security guard. The river was serene and breathtaking. But the walk back up literally took my breath away. I struggled back up and do not recommend doing it if you are not super fit. I wanted to walk along the river all the days of my trip. But this was just not possible.The food is made for an eastern palate and is tasty. But they advertise western dishes,and they really tried hard. Some items on the menu are not available or they don’t know how to prepare it well.It’s a small boutique hotel that is not cheap. One would expect it to be quiet and tasteful. The patrons are loud, inconsiderate of others. I found eating breakfast in the breakfast room difficult. The staff did their best to accommodate me in the bar but that was not always practical. I eat most of my meals in my room. The high tea is of poor quality, it lacks variety and quality is not great.I did two massages. The therapist was kind and good. She had her phone on, it buzzed and rang periodically through both massages.Would I return, probably not. Would I recommend? Not for a discerning traveler looking for peace, calm, rest and relaxation.

Roseate Ganges is a beautiful stay just off the road a further from the town but is well connected. The rooms are cabins perched along the hill side proving beautiful views from the balconies of the greens and maybe a peek of the mighty Ganga. A short morning Trek to the Ganga ghat provides ample photography opportunities and of course works up appetite but should be taken only by able bodied.The food is good, they provide a selection of dishes with a pahadi twist. They could although use premium raw produce for the raw dishes- salad etc. I expected juicier tomatoes in the salad not the cardboard variety but I might be nit picking at this point.We did have a minor inconvenience due to an admin mix up but Rajveer and Saurav took extra care to make my husband's birthday stay special and enjoyable. Kudos to the team on being promptly responsive and courteous with the guests.Will go back for a longer stay soon.
