Very nice hospitality and rooms. Good breakfast. Loved it.
Unfortunately, our stay at The Yellow House did not live up to the experience we were expecting, especially considering the price we paid and they say it’s backed by Taj!We had initially emailed the property for subject to availability, we might be considered for a better room. Their response mentioned that they would try if there was an opportunity. However, during our we noticed that several rooms were not occupied. Despite this, there was no proactive communication from the property about any possible room upgrade, complimentary or otherwise. **Cleanliness and housekeeping were another concern.** Housekeeping seemed to be limited mainly to making the bed and cleaning the bathroom. Other furniture and surfaces were dusty, and even the lamps had not been properly cleaned. We also found an empty bottle lying on the floor which was not ours! They do not have bar or snacks/fruits in the room (which even a 3star do nowadays)The **pillow cover also had a small hole**. While this may seem minor, basic linen quality and presentation should be maintained when you are charging guests a premium.The most uncomfortable part was actually **the checkout experience**. We had already paid approximately **42,000 on the first day, for 6 nights before checking in**. During checkout, the staff asked us to make the 42,000 payment again. When I was trying to find the payment receipt to show that it had already been paid, the staff then realised and said that they could see the payment. No apologies nothing!!Please manage your expectations before booking this property.** If you are booking it because of the images, the “Portuguese house” or because of Taj, it’s nothing like it! For the amount of money we spent, we expected significantly better attention to detail, housekeeping, communication and overall guest experience.
The rooms resemble those of Bloom Hotel and do not justify the high prices they charge. Additionally, the room service was quite slow compared to what is expected from Taj. We also ordered walnut brownies for dessert, but they contained walnut shells.
