My family and I stayed at Ramgarh Heritage for my birthday weekend. I was quite happy to see how the property preserves original Rajput architecture, hand-painted walls, and mirrored interiors passed down through eight generations. During check-in at the front desk, we got a surprise upgrade to luxury rooms and were also welcomed by a refreshing glass of Rose Sharbat. Once settled in our rooms, we headed to the Diwan Khana for lunch where Chef Thapa and his service team of Sonu, Anshul and Kamran took good care of us not just for this meal, but for dinners as well as breakfasts. For lunch, we ordered the Papad Ki Sabzi, Diwan-E-Chicken and Dal Tadka with an assortment of breads. The Papad ki Sabzi stood out in this meal with a rich gravy of curd and tomato with crisp pieces of papad in it. This was a nice play on flavours and textures.In the evening, Mr. Karan from the front desk gave us a complete tour of this historic property along with all the lore attached to it. Later that night, we kept it simple and choose the in-room dining option so we could rest and relax as well. Of all the items we ordered for dinner that night, I loved the Ramgarh Khas Shammi Kebab, Dahi Ke Shole, Tawa Maas and Kesari Malai Kofta. By the time we were done with dinner, we also got my birthday cake, which was a nice pineapple cake in bright yellow colour and well made.The next day we had a wonderful breakfast of Paranthas, Poha and Poori Bhaji with a customary Chef's Special Dish of the Day and headed for Chandigarh sightseeing. Once we were back in the evening we went back to the Diwan Khana for dinner. The staff had arranged for candle light dinner in the private dining room. It was a beautiful setting, with a shelf full of old utensils from the royal family and a few paintings on the wall. We ordered the Malai Chicken Tikka, Dahi Ke Shole for starters and Dhania Murg Lazeez with Paneer Tikka Butter Masala for main course. Once again, the chef and his service team took great care of us, making the dinner a royal experience. For all of us, a private dining set up like this was a first and this last meal at Ramgarh Heritage truly tied up the whole trip together.The whole trip was a great break from everything, away from the city noise, closer to history and nature. Ramgarh Heritage is a beautiful and comfortable place to stay at for a short weekend!

After dinner, we were served a birthday cake—a well-made bright yellow pineapple cake. The next morning, we had a lovely breakfast of Paranthas, Poha, and Poori Bhaji along with the Chef's Special Dish of the Day before heading out for sightseeing in Chandigarh. Returning in the evening, we dined again at the Diwan Khana where the staff arranged a candlelight dinner in a private room. The setting was beautiful, featuring a shelf of old royal utensils and some paintings. We started with Malai Chicken Tikka and Dahi Ke Shole, followed by Dhania Murg Lazeez and Paneer Tikka Butter Masala. Once again, the chef and his team provided excellent service, making the dinner feel truly royal. This private dining experience was a first for all of us and perfectly concluded our stay at Ramgarh Heritage. Overall, the trip was a refreshing escape from city life, bringing us closer to history and nature. Ramgarh Heritage is a lovely and comfortable place for a short weekend getaway.
