I had a very disappointing and unpleasant experience during my stay at this Zostel franchise.There was no electricity at night, and when staff were asked about starting the generator, they simply replied that the “owner said not to switch it on.” This left the rooms full of mosquitoes, and the reception was completely unresponsive they didn’t even bother answering calls. Because of which my team meetings and works are all affected I had also approached the reception staff once for help regarding property information, as I was planning to relocate to Sikkim. Later, I was shocked to receive a blackmail message from the number 8167775677, falsely alleging personal involvement with the staff member. This was extremely disturbing and unprofessional.To make matters worse, another women who roams in the restaurant area in the evening called me and insisted that I should not inform Zostel authorities about the issue, claiming that the person involved was a police officer and connected to the reception staff.Such incidents are absolutely unacceptable, especially at a brand like Zostel which is trusted by travelers across India. The lack of safety, professionalism, and accountability made this stay one of the most disgusting and distressing experiences I’ve ever had. I am not detailing things to not affect ppls privacy and if things would have gone really worse then i was planning to write to zostel team and take the action legally and invovle other ppls who stayed with me and show their experience. The guy from that number called me multiple times and interestingly it was obvious that this entire drama was a staged one by this peoples destroying the safety of the travellers such a worst experience and behaviour from sikkim zostel - gangtok property. I have more to write and i will write for sure if they gave some fake statements as i will put proofs of what happened which is well saved with me
