This was one of the most disappointing hostel stays I've encountered. I reserved a dorm bed online, but upon arrival, the staff claimed they couldn't find my reservation. Even after showing the confirmed booking on my app, they denied me the bed. Traveling all the way to Gangtok only to be refused check-in despite having a confirmed reservation was very frustrating. I highly suggest verifying your booking with the hostel directly before you arrive, particularly if you're coming from a long distance.

I planned a solo trip to visit Gangtok, Namchi, Pelling, and more, but ended up spending five days around Tag Along and Tag Along 2.0. Located a bit away from MG Marg, Tag Along is in a quieter spot, perfect for mindful travelers. Shared cabs from Lal Market to Development Area and beyond are easy to find, so getting around is simple. The hospitality was fantastic—thanks to Sumiran, Bhavana, Digvijay, Aishwarya, and the rest for making me want to stay longer. The Travel Café is a wonderful place to meet locals and make friends; everyone is very welcoming. Take a walk to MG Marg, visit Enchey Monastery for sunrise and prayers, climb to the Handicrafts & Handloom Institute, check out the Orchidarium and Ridge Road—many attractions are within walking distance. If your legs are sore the next day, just relax at the café, play games, watch movies, create art, chat with people, enjoy good food (a bit pricey for me, but the ambiance makes up for it), and have a 'Dansberg' if available. Tag Along 2.0 offers a completely different vibe with its peaceful surroundings, quietness, birdsong, pets, and Prabhat Da—a truly wholesome experience. Looking forward to returning!
