Extremely Disappointing Experience at Mayfair GangtokI had an extremely disappointing and unpleasant experience during my stay at Mayfair Gangtok. Unfortunately, the service, staff behaviour, and room quality were nowhere close to what I expected from a property of this standard.I have previously stayed at Mayfair Guwahati and Mayfair Kalimpong, and my experience at both properties was absolutely excellent. The hospitality, staff behaviour, service, rooms, and overall experience were all outstanding. That is why I had very high expectations from Mayfair Gangtok. Sadly, this stay was completely the opposite.The staff at Mayfair Gangtok were quite rude and unresponsive, and the service was extremely slow. Whenever we called for assistance, it took a very long time for someone to come.The refrigerator in our room was not working, and even after informing the staff, there was a significant delay in getting it checked.The biggest issue was Room No. 2209. The room was extremely uncomfortable and, honestly, the overall atmosphere felt almost horror-like. The painting inside the room was also extremely scary and gave the room a very disturbing and uncomfortable atmosphere, especially for children.The mattress/springs were in very poor condition, making it extremely difficult to sleep. Our children could not sleep properly throughout the night because of the uncomfortable mattress and the overall atmosphere of the room.For a luxury property like Mayfair, this level of service and room quality is simply unacceptable. Especially after having such wonderful experiences at Mayfair Guwahati and Mayfair Kalimpong, I was genuinely shocked by the difference.I sincerely request the management to take this feedback seriously, personally inspect Room No. 2209, replace/check the mattress, review the room’s interior and painting, ensure all room facilities are working properly, and look into the behaviour and response time of the staff.I am a genuine Mayfair customer and have had excellent experiences with your other properties, which is why this experience was even more disappointing. I hope the management takes corrective action so that other guests, especially families with children, do not have to go through the same experience.Very disappointing stay at Mayfair Gangtok. I genuinely expected much better from Mayfair.

If this represents a 5-star hotel, then the standards must be on holiday. The dining experience is truly disappointing. Chicken options are limited to just two dishes, and mutton has only one choice. The variety is hardly impressive. The rooms lack the fresh, inviting scent expected from a high-end hotel. Breakfast is lackluster, evening tea is just the usual chai and pakoda with nothing special, and dinner was so disappointing I had to complain earlier. Room service is notably poor; every request needs multiple reminders, and proactive service is absent. The only thing consistently timely is the friendly greeting. The swimming pool is surprisingly small for a 5-star property and poorly maintained, with visible insects and dust that don't inspire confidence. Overall, this hotel seems to have perfected the welcome but forgotten everything that should follow. It’s definitely not a 5-star experience unless stars are given just for greetings.
