Voyage Songfum Retreat

I absolutely adore Voyage Songfum Retreat, hidden away from the city's noise, it provides stunning natural views. The rooms were tidy, roomy, and offered fantastic vistas. The hospitality stood out, with staff being very warm, attentive, and caring during our entire visit. I loved the momo making classes, which turned into a special and unforgettable experience. The food was tasty and skillfully made. I would strongly suggest this hotel to anyone seeking outstanding hospitality and a memorable stay.

We spent three nights at Voyage Songfum during the first week of August, and it truly is a stunning place. Our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. The rooms, location, and service were all excellent with nothing to fault. Visiting in the off-season turned out to be a great choice as the staff treated us exceptionally well. Their hospitality was the best I've experienced, making us feel not just like special guests but like family. A big thanks to Mr. Ajay, the manager, and staff members Sushma, Doma, and Iccha for their extra efforts. It was my wife's birthday, and they arranged everything I requested perfectly. Breakfast was outstanding, rated 10/10. Normally a buffet is offered, but since it was off-season, we could skip it and customize our meals. They served delicious local dishes like chicken saphaley, aloo mimi, waiwai soup, and a yellow maida-based item with soup—ask Doma about it. Their dinner was also excellent, better than local spots outside. The property itself is beautiful and just 10-15 minutes from the tourist area of Gangtok. We enjoyed a morning trek nearby, experiencing local life with the school, monastery, waterfall, and peaceful chanting. We also had fun in a momo-making class and tried the hot stone bath after a tiring day, which was very relaxing and unique. Be aware that the mountain and forest surroundings mean there are insects around, but the rooms are clean and hygienic with no issues. Though this review is long, the experience was absolutely worth it. Definitely a place to stay.

Everything is perfect.

We stayed recently at Voyage Songfum as a family of three. The hotel is excellently located about 4 km from Gangtok city, with about a 20-minute car ride to and from town. The property is clean and well kept. The staff were very helpful and professional, making sure we felt comfortable throughout. Traveling with a 2-year-old, we appreciated the care taken regarding the food options. Our hill view room featured a balcony with lovely views. We definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Gangtok.
