India has cancelled all international commercial flights until July 31. However, the government has been operating several repatriation flights to bring back stranded citizens.
India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to operate special repatriation flights between the two countries from July 12 to July 26.
Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri even tweeted about it.
As part of the close strategic partnership between the Govts of India & UAE, and with a view to assisting UAE residents who are presently in India to return to UAE, the Civil Aviation Authorities of both countries have agreed to operationalise a special arrangement. @PIB_India

Between July 12 to 26, UAE carriers such as Emirates, Etihad, flyDubai and Air Arabia will be able to fly to India and take people back to the UAE on their return leg.Book Flights
Similarly, Indian airlines such as Vistara, IndiGo, GoAir, Air India, Air India Express will be flying those who have a UAE resident visa and relevant permissions on their empty legs as well.
Here are the details of all the flights that are available to book on ixigo. Hurry, limited seats only.
SpiceJet will be flying to is going to fly to Ras-Al-Khaimah instead of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The airline will provide bus transit to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah from there.
Spicejet’s planned flights will operate almost daily from the following locations:
Air India Express
Air India Express is going to operate about five flights daily between Indian cities and the UAE. The carrier will operate on multiple destinations in both countries.
Some of the routes include:
- Delhi – Abu Dhabi
- Delhi – Sharjah
- Kochi – Dubai
- Mumbai- Sharjah
- Chennai – Abu Dhabi
- Thiruvananthapuram – Dubai/Abu Dhabi
Emirates will be operating special flights to five Indian destinations. Details are shared below:
- Bengaluru: twice-daily flights
- Delhi: twice-daily flights
- Kochi: twice-daily flights
- Mumbai: thrice daily flights
- Thiruvananthapuram: once-daily flights
Please note: Only Indian citizens stranded in the UAE will be allowed to fly from Dubai. For India to UAE, flights will be available for UAE nationals as well as residents with prior entry approval from the concerned authorities.
All passengers travelling from airports in India to Dubai are also required to carry a negative RT-PCR test report issued by an authorised laboratory no more than 96 hours before departure.
The airline will be running the following flights from India to Abu Dhabi.
- Kochi (to/fro): 3 flights
- Bengaluru (to/fro): 9 flights
- Delhi (to/fro): 10 flights
- Mumbai (to/fro): 11 flights
- Hyderabad (to/fro): 3 flights
- Chennai (to/fro): 9 flights
Please note: All travellers leaving for India need to arrive at Abu Dhabi airport 6 hours before your departure for a mandatory rapid test before check-in. Those flying from India to the UAE require approval from ICA.
The carrier will operate the following flights between India and Dubai.
- Mumbai (to/fro): 8 flights
- Delhi (to/fro): 8 flights
- Hyderabad (to/fro): 8 flights
- Kochi (to/fro): 16 flights
- Thirunavanthanapuram (to /fro): 2 flights
Air Arabia will have flight operations from Sharjah to the following cities in India. Most of these flights will run daily and some even twice daily.
