Indian Railways Plans to Extend India’s Bullet Train Network

The Indian Railways has asked the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), to add 10 more bullet train routes in the train network.

If 10 more routes are added, the total distance that the bullet trains will run is nearly 6000 kilometers.

According to reports,  the bullet train is set to connect Delhi with Varanasi. Plus, you also have Delhi-Lucknow trains via Kanpur, and Lucknow-Varanasi via Sultanpur route.

Other routes include New Delhi-Amritsar, New Delhi-Varanasi, New Delhi-Kolkata, Patna-Kolkata, New Delhi-Mumbai trains, and Chennai-Bengaluru.

The cost of the project is expected to be around to Rs.10 lakh crores.
