Karnataka operates 3K buses across the state, Telangana inter-state bus services resume and more!

As the lockdown lifts across various states in India, state bus services along with railways have slowly started operations keeping necessary precautions in mind.

> The government of Karnataka has issued orders relaxing the COVID-19 restrictions imposed in the state except in Mysuru district and has permitted bus operations with 50% seating capacity. Hence, Karnataka State Road Corporation (KSRTC) has commenced local and inter-district long route bus operations with effect since 21-06-2021 based on traffic density and need except in Mysuru district. Initially, about 3000 buses are being operated.


KSRTC has also restarted bus operations to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states as per the guidelines of respective states with effect since June 22 based on traffic density and need with 50% capacity.

> With the lockdown fully lifted in Telangana, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has resumed inter-state bus services to Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra since Monday, while strictly adhering to COVID-19 restrictions in the neighbouring states. The buses destined to cities and towns in Andhra Pradesh will ply between 6 am and 6 pm, while buses towards Karnataka will run between 5 am and 7 pm in some districts.

> The Chennai government has allowed non-air conditioned inter-district buses to run between four districts including Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpet with 50 percent seating capacity.

> With several relaxations by the government, public transport has made a comeback in Karnataka since yesterday. Around 2000 Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) buses hit the roads on Monday. While over a thousand buses ran along different routes in the morning another 800 operated during the evening hours.
