Luxury Train Golden Chariot to be Back on Track from March 22

Luxury train Golden Chariot is all set to resume services from March 22 after a gap of two years.

The March-April operation of the train will run three trips of the Pride of Karnataka tour. Earlier known as the Pride of South, this tour will cover Bengaluru, Kabini, Mysuru, Hassan, Hampi, Badami and Goa.

However, from October, the IRCTC plans to roll out three tours: Pride of Karnataka, Southern Splendour, and a third tour of four days and three nights that will cover Bengaluru, Mysuru, Bandipur, Chikmagalur and Hampi. The third tour will aim to provide the chariot experience to people at a reduced rate.


South India’s only luxury train, the Golden Chariot is an 18-coach-long train that can accommodate 84 guests.

What’s more, passengers will also get a 50 per cent discount on booking if they are travelling with a companion. It will begin its new journey from the Yeshwantpur Railway Station.
