Qatar Removes Mandatory Quarantine for Travellers Ahead of FIFA World Cup

Are you planning to fly to Qatar soon? Then, here are the updated travel rules that you must know. 

Starting from 4th September, quarantine is no longer mandatory for travellers arriving in the country. Qatar has also scrapped its COVID-19 Country Red Risk Classification list.

All visitors above the age of six, however, must take a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) within 24 hours of arrival. They must also carry a negative RT-PCR test result valid for 48 hours or a Rapid Antigen Test result valid for 24 hours from their flight’s scheduled departure to the country. Minors aged 0–5 are exempt from COVID testing upon arrival.

The decision was taken in time for the FIFA World Cup 2022 that is scheduled to kick off in November in Qatar.

As per the latest guidelines, travellers must download and activate the Ehteraz mobile app on their phones using a local or international SIM card. They must also sign up for the pre-entry online registration system through the website at least three days before their arrival.
