Railways Launches, Extends Many Trains on Major Routes

The festival season is over but the rush in trains continues as people travel back after Diwali and Chhath Puja. Keeping this in mind, various divisions of the Indian Railways have announced special trains for passengers’ convenience. Scroll down to know more.

> The North Eastern Railway has declared that it will operate two trains between Sealdah and Lal Kuan.

Train no. 03121 Sealdah–Lal Kuan Chhath Special will run on 6th and 13th November. It will depart from its source at 11:50 PM, and will reach Lal Kuan at 5 AM on the third day. 

Train no. 03122 Lal Kuan–Sealdah Chhath Special will run on 8th and 15th November. It will depart from its source at 8 AM, and will reach Sealdah at 1:15 PM the next day. 

> The Northeast Frontier Railway notified that the frequency of a pair of services will be restored to bi-weekly.

> The East Central Railway will be running special trains to facilitate convenience to those passengers who are returning after Chhath Puja. 

Train no. 05215 Barauni–Yesvantpur Chhath Special will depart from Barauni at 2:30 PM on 4th November, and will reach its destination at 4:30 PM on the third day. 

Train no. 05216 Yesvantpur–Barauni Chhath Special will depart from Yesvantpur at 12 PM on 7th November, and will reach its destination at 3 PM on the third day. 

> The Northeast Frontier Railway has also decided to extend the operations of the following two services. 

  • Train no. 08047 Santragachi–New Jalpaiguri Summer Special will run every Friday from 4th to 25th November. 
  • Train no. 08048 New Jalpaiguri–Santragachi Summer Special will run every Saturday from 5th to 26th November. 

The composition, timings, frequency and halts of both these will remain unchanged.
