To meet the festive travel rush during Ganesh Chaturthi 2026, Central Railway will operate 246 special trains, providing additional capacity for passengers travelling between Mumbai, Pune and the Konkan region.

The special train schedule includes 184 reserved services with AC, Sleeper and Unreserved coaches, along with 62 unreserved MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) trains for short-distance travel. The move is aimed at easing the heavy passenger demand during one of Maharashtra’s biggest festivals, particularly on the busy Mumbai–Konkan corridor.

According to Central Railway, the special services will operate from:
- 98 services from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mumbai
- 76 services from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Mumbai
- 10 services from Pune
- 62 unreserved MEMU special trains for regional connectivity
These additional services are expected to benefit thousands of devotees travelling from Mumbai and Pune to various destinations across the Konkan region to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with their families.
