Pleasant stay with delicious food

This was our second stay, booked last minute. Knowing the Chettiar Park area made us feel more at ease choosing Akkandi Veedu instead of searching for a new place. Traveling in the off-season meant cheaper rooms and we had lower expectations, so we didn't opt for any meals. We are raising our rating because the service seemed better this time, and a staff member kindly asked us to reconsider our review if we enjoyed our stay. Previously, we stayed for two days and found this place to be a mix between a hotel and a homestay. Although there are 3-4 staff members, they were hard to find. Lunch and dinner need to be requested hours in advance, and the kitchen operates only from 7 AM to 7 PM. Unlike hotels where you can order tea or coffee late at night, this place doesn't offer that flexibility. After paying 17.5k for two nights, we had to carry our own luggage to and from the room, wasting about half an hour waiting for assistance. Calls to the provided number went unanswered and no callbacks were made. We had to contact the booking lady before anyone came, and by then we had already moved the luggage ourselves. Breakfast was very limited in both quantity and variety, with no fruits or tea/coffee, and no sachets provided in the room. The room wasn't cleaned after the first night, and although checkout was listed as 10:30-11, we were asked to leave by 9:30. The room is small with two bedrooms and no kitchen, but it was clean and acceptable. Parking is available for two cars on the property; others must park on a steep, narrow road. There is no notable view from the property, just a park across the street with nothing much to see. Security is lacking since no guards are on duty and the main door is always open. My family and I were somewhat disappointed. We chose this place because of its high Google rating, hoping for a change, but next time we'll prefer a hotel.

The service was tidy and clean, and the food was fantastic.

My recent visit to this place in Kodaikanal was quite disappointing and did not meet my expectations. The photos shown on Google and shared with us were misleading compared to the actual state of the accommodation. Parking was supposed to be on a first-come, first-served basis, but after parking, we were asked late at night to move our car to make space for another vehicle, which was very inconvenient. Breakfast was included but they never asked what we wanted, and the food quality was poor. Also, basic morning tea was not part of breakfast and required extra payment. Although there was an electric kettle, essential items like tea bags, coffee, and milk powder were missing. The only acceptable part was the paid dinner we had, which was okay. Overall, the stay was unsatisfactory and not worth the cost. I would not recommend it.
