Ashok Inn

It was an terrible experience in the hotel. Charges are so high but service is very very poor, I think a descent lodge is better than this hotel. If you order food it will be served after minimum 2 hrs. I stayed for 3 days and every day the story was same. Poor sanitation in rooms . toiletries, sent only on request. If any complaint is lodged to front desk, then response is so poor and no action will be taken.

The rooms are good, but not great compared to Bangalore standards. The blankets, chairs, and practically every surface that's not glass or a tile, had light stains. They were not disgusting, but because of them I might try another hotel the next time I am in Davanagere. The bathroom and toilet were good too. Shower pressure was perfect. A minor annoyance is that they didn't provide a set of brush and toothpaste in the room, which is the first thing any decent hotel should do. I had to go out and buy them from a grocery.The worst parts that made me take out 1.5 + 0.5 stars from this review were the restaurant and the men in jacket at the reception. Do not order food from hotel's restaurant. They will take an hour serve the food to your room after you call them. And then another hour to come and clean up after you have finished. And the food wasn't even worth the wait, it was just ok-ish. The front desk lady was a polite person. But the men were unwelcoming and had terrible manners. Fortunately, I didn't have to interact with them much.

(A) We never ate in the room - but they had called to say there was a food stain on the bed. We had requested for tea - had on the separate table, never spilled anything.(B) When we left at 8am, we handed over the key and told the night duty receptionist - that if we don’t call back by 11.30 am then they can check us out. They called at 1.30 to say we had not checked out. No coordination between the receptionists.Otherwise the room was great, hospitality was great. We checked in on Saturday at 5.30pm had dinner outside. Beds were comfortable, checked out at 8am Sunday in the morning. We came here for a marriage function.

Very clean roomsFood is not that greatBest shower I have EVER had. The hot water is instant and water pressure is so powerful that it nearly knocked me down. It's powerwash kind of pressure.Staff are very attentive, helpful, knowledgeable, ready and happy to help, and courteous.Guest comfort is clearly the main objective of this establishment.Best value for money!
