We visited Elephant Valley Eco farm last month during Christmas. As it was the holiday season, we had done our booking way in advance and had taken time to go through each of their room descriptions before making the reservation. We mainly chose this place based on their policies mentioned in their website and its location. It clearly said that they discourage elderly people and children as it is a forested zone with sightings of wild animals and also because of their location. Let me mention here that I have nothing against elderly people or children but my preference is for a quiet holiday amidst nature. Anyway, this wasn't something for which I have rated this property low. The cottage we booked had a faulty toilet. Right from our first day we started having issues. The flushing action worked in reverse direction so one can imagine the state. On the second day, we had to use their common toilet next to the reception! The third day was no better. Fortunately they moved us to another room just for a night. The next day they had plans of moving us to another room. So it would have been a perfect musical chair. We spared them that option of moving us to yet another room and chose to check out in advance. Planning a trip takes a lot of effort and resources and such experiences can spoil all those efforts completely. While they did adjust our food bill from the amount they refunded for the early check out ( we checked out on the third day instead of the fourth), the management did nothing to compensate for the extremely unpleasant stay experiences we had. I would term this as unethical and unprofessional attitude in hospitality industry.The property is not well maintained though its USP is its beautiful location. The staff did whatever they could with their limited option.
