Great service by front office manager Anita and exceptional service by Vineet from the restaurant. He was so welcoming every day and also assisted us in providing baby food. Only slight issues is that thier gym isn’t very good. But if you are otherwise planning this is a perfect place for a family stay. Also they provide ev charging which was an add on if you take your on ev vehicle

As I travel to Goa every year, I have previously stayed at several Accor properties including ibis Styles Goa Calangute, ibis Styles Goa Vagator, Novotel Goa Dona Sylvia Resort and Novotel Goa Resort & Spa. My experiences at the Novotel and Ibis properties were consistently excellent. Since Grand Mercure Goa Candolim is positioned as a more premium Accor brand, my expectations were naturally very high. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing and nowhere close to what one would expect from a premium resort.First of all, the property does not feel like a resort at all. It feels more like a residential apartment complex with multiple wings spread across the area. My room was in the Aguada wing, and every time I wanted to use the swimming pool, I had to cross a public road and enter another wing. It genuinely felt like I was staying in a residential society and walking to the society swimming pool rather than being in a premium resort.The swimming pool experience was even worse. The pool water was visibly dirty, with tree leaves and bird feathers floating everywhere. After entering the pool, I noticed that the water recycling inlets/outlets at the bottom were not operational, which probably explained why the water was not being cleaned properly. I was shocked to see that there was absolutely no staff attending the pool area.After swimming, there were no pool towels available. There was not even a telephone nearby to contact reception. I had to search the hotel number online and call them personally to request towels poolside. I was assured that towels were being sent immediately, but even after waiting for almost 40 minutes and making three follow-up calls, nobody arrived. I then noticed the duty manager’s number displayed near the pool and called five times, but the calls went unanswered.Eventually, I had to walk back to reception in wet clothes to ask what was happening. This is where I must appreciate Ms. Prakriti from Customer Relations. She was extremely apologetic, professional, and genuinely concerned. She explained that the property was severely short-staffed and assured me that such an incident would not happen again. During the rest of our stay, she personally made efforts to ensure everything was fine. She was truly doing her job sincerely and professionally, although it was evident that even she was helpless due to the staff shortage.The kids’ play area was another disappointment. There were toys placed for children, but the area remained completely unattended. In my previous stays at Novotel and Ibis properties, there was always dedicated staff engaging children with activities like painting, drawing, crafts, and games. My daughter genuinely enjoys those activities, and it allowed us parents to relax or go for a swim while knowing she was happily engaged and supervised. At Grand Mercure, there was no such arrangement at all.Regarding the room, I would say it was spacious and reasonably clean. However, for a premium Accor brand, the expectations are naturally much higher. The level of cleanliness did not feel superior to Novotel in any way. There were visible stains and spots in the bathroom, as well as stains on the sofa inside the room.Another incident that seriously raised concerns about hygiene standards happened on the second day when I ordered curd rice through room service. The restaurant is located in another wing across the road, yet the staff member brought the food uncovered, without even properly closing the lid. He crossed the road, walked through multiple wings, and came up to the third floor carrying exposed food openly. This was honestly shocking and made me seriously question the hygiene standards followed by the property.I am giving this property 2 stars only because of the genuine efforts, professionalism, and courteous behavior of Ms. Prakriti. Otherwise, this property, which is marketed as a premium resort, but felt more like an apartment complex with poor management,

Had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff was very polite, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the service was excellent. Everything was well managed, and we truly enjoyed the experience. Highly satisfied with the hospitality.
