Avoid Grand Mercure Candolim Goa. Confirmed prepaid rooms mean absolutely nothing here.We prepaid around *** for two Luxury Suites. One day before arrival, the hotel suddenly claimed one suite was unavailable because the jacuzzi was not working and tried to push us into a “higher category” plunge-pool room.It was a clear downgrade.When we said we would happily take the Luxury Suite with one non-working jacuzzi, the truth finally came out: they simply did not have the room they had confirmed and taken payment for.That alone is unacceptable.Then came the so-called service recovery: essentially none.Manager *** and staff member *** could not offer proper compensation, a genuine upgrade, or even a comparable room. They showed us alternatives, we agreed to one, and then they casually informed us that room would only be available tomorrow.So what exactly was the solution for today?It gets worse.Room *** had ineffective air-conditioning and appeared defective. The minibar was empty. No cups. No glasses. Poor service throughout.These are not luxury-hotel problems. These are basic hotel-management failures.The most insulting part was trying to sell a downgrade to us as a “higher category” room instead of being transparent from the beginning.For an Accor-branded hotel, the standards were shockingly poor. Reservation management, room readiness, maintenance, communication and service recovery were all far below expectations.Frankly, the experience felt closer to a local dharamshala than a premium international hotel.Another family also appeared to be facing issues, with complaints and raised voices around reception. And this is during the off-season. If they cannot manage confirmed inventory now, imagine peak season.There are far, far, far better hotels around Candolim where your money will be better spent.Definitely not recommended.We booked early. We prepaid. We had confirmed Luxury Suites. We still ended up being made to adjust because of the hotel’s mistake.We got burnt. You should not be. Choose wisely.And this will not end with a Google review. The complete experience will be escalated through the appropriate Accor senior management and customer relations channels.Still living, waiting what happens tomorrow as they have promised to shift the room to luxury suite. Cant trust though, you know by now.Edit:Retaliation after raising a complaint? This is beyond unacceptable.After we raised serious concerns about our stay at Grand Mercure Candolim Goa, we began experiencing repeated issues with our room key being deactivated.What makes this especially disturbing is that, from our perspective, it appeared deliberate and started after we complained.If that impression is correct, this is not merely poor hospitality , it is petty, retaliatory and completely unprofessional behaviour.A guest should never be made to feel that access to their own room is being used as a tool to inconvenience or intimidate them because they complained about genuine service failures.We had already dealt with room-allocation problems, poor service, missing basic amenities and ineffective air-conditioning. Instead of trying to repair the experience, this latest episode made us feel that complaining had simply made the situation worse.That is an extraordinary way for an Accor-branded hotel to handle a dissatisfied guest.Whether this was deliberate or gross incompetence, the result was the same: repeated inconvenience, frustration and a feeling that the hotel was more interested in making things difficult than resolving the problem.If guests have to worry about retaliation after complaining, something is seriously wrong with the culture of the property.This incident will also be included in our escalation to Accor senior management and customer relations.Completely unacceptable. Avoid.PS still waiting for some one to fix the AC at 12:20 AM!AC outages now, its 1:50 AM. No cooling. What a royal punishment

Wow!!What do I say about this amazing property…Right in the centre between North and South Goa so you can easily travel anywhere..The staff is exceptionally sweet,kind and will go out of their way to help you…Make you feel comfortable and at home…They provide and surprise you with upgrades just at a minor request..The breakfast at the hotel is way too good with 80% Vegetarian options…We even had lunch and the Roti subzi was way too tasty…Excellent quality rooms at very reasonable prices with bathtub and even plunge pool and jacuzzi rooms are very affordable….Alysha,Debeshwar and Shebaan did a fantastic job to offer assistance at every step during our stay…Good spa,swimming pool,balconies,gym,Banquet hall,Chess,Carrom,Pool,Fuseball etc…Plus they offer 15 to 20% off on Food and Drinks and Spa throughout the stay if you book through Agoda and Agoda has the cheapest pricing as well…Very happy
