The hostel is located on the edge of Bodhgaya, which is wonderful as it offers a calm and peaceful atmosphere. There is also a cafe inside, and the food was quite tasty. The host was friendly and helpful. Overall, I found the stay to be cozy and pleasant. I would definitely return if I visit Bodhgaya again.

Housetale became my refuge from a noisy, hectic, and exhausting life. Bodh Gaya was my ancestral hometown before my family moved out of Bihar, and I returned to see everything that was there before we left, but I missed having a home. Since this was my first solo trip to Bihar, I was unsure about how safe and secure it would be to stay somewhere. Like many solo female travelers, I was cautious and messaged the host to confirm if it was safe. Upon arrival, I found a beautiful setup where you check in, introduce yourself, and then become part of the family. The hospitality, comfort, and people around never let you feel lonely or isolated. They have a peaceful café called Kitaab and Koffee, which serves some of the best coffee in Bodh Gaya. I remember sitting for hours, enjoying the music and breeze. The location is slightly away from town to preserve the tranquility, untouched by the chaos. Kudos to the host Armaan for his passion; Housetale is crafted as beautifully as possible. The place reflects his patience, hard work, and love in building it. I didn’t have high expectations but left with many sweet memories. I was truly moved when it was time to say goodbye. Now I feel I have a home in Bodh Gaya that I will visit whenever I want. Cheers to everyone who helped make this place a true house of tales.

Charming hostel

I visited with my father. The place was nicely designed and decorated. They offer an open cafe that visitors can access. On Saturday and Sunday evenings, there is live music available. The food was tasty and felt like home-cooked. The staff behaved politely. I recommend it to all. It offers good value for money with lush greenery and a pleasant atmosphere.
