Extremely disappointing experience. Not remotely what was advertisedI booked this property through Agoda based on its rating and reviews, expecting at least a basic level of cleanliness and hospitality. Unfortunately, what I experienced was completely different.I specifically informed the property before/at arrival that I needed a clean and hygienic room. I reached the hotel at night, but right from the reception/check-in experience, something felt seriously wrong. The property did not feel like a proper hotel.The room was extremely disappointing. There was an unpleasant smell, the linen did not appear clean, the mattress and washroom were in poor condition, and the room lighting was so inadequate that the room felt dark and uncomfortable. Overall cleanliness and maintenance were nowhere close to what I expected from a property carrying such a rating on Agoda.The service experience was equally disappointing. Instead of feeling welcomed as a guest, the overall experience was uncomfortable enough that I decided to leave within a few minutes without staying the night.What makes the experience even worse is the handling of my refund request. I booked through Agoda, but when I approached Agoda for help, I was essentially directed back to the hotel. Agoda's own published policy says that problems or questions concerning a reservation should be directed to its customer support, and its refund policy provides a process for refund requests. My biggest question is simple: how did this property receive the rating shown on Agoda?A hotel room doesn't need to be luxurious, but it must be clean, hygienic, properly maintained and reasonably comfortable. These are basic expectations, not luxury demands.I would strongly recommend that Agoda re-evaluate the property's current rating, photographs and actual guest experience instead of allowing customers to make decisions based on an impression that may not match reality.For me, the biggest lesson is: don't rely only on the Agoda rating when booking this property.I couldn't stay even for a few minutes, and I am extremely disappointed that neither the property nor Agoda took sufficient responsibility for resolving the situation.
