This was my first visit to Pondicherry, and as a traveler from Malaysia, i was looking for a pleasent stay. Unfortunately, it was disappointing due to several issues with both the facilities and service.The breakfast selection was very poor, and the bread served appeared stale and not fresh.The first room assigned to us had multiple maintenance problems. The bathroom drain was clogged, the shower was not functioning properly, and the overall condition of the room was below expectations. As a result, we requested a room change.Unfortunately, an uncomfortable incident occurred after we moved to the second room. A staff member asked me to return to the previous room to check something. While I was inside the room, he came in and closed the door without my consent. He later mentioned that he was checking a cupboard behind the door, but the situation felt unsafe and unprofessional. Staff should always seek permission before entering a guest's room and should avoid entering while a guest is alone inside unless absolutely necessary and with clear consent.While some maintenance issues can happen, guest safety, privacy, and professionalism should never be compromised. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves both room maintenance and staff training.

The hotel looks very nice and exclusive for the price paid. It's in a good location surrounded by some nice places. Would highly recommend Gughai the adjacent bar which serves great food. The in house food is also good but the service here is quite poor. Our luggages were left at the reception with no updates and the management does not seem to be aware of what's happening too. Still a good place to go.
