Swiss Cottage and Spa by Salvus

The reception was left unattended for hours whether we called or went there in person. A large rat came into our room through the balcony door and ruined our clothes, then had six baby rats in our suitcase. When we called, the staff denied having rats in the room and accused us of bringing them. We spent half an hour at night trying to get the rat out of our room. The bathroom smelled bad, and the door handle and stopper needed repair. There was no in-house restaurant or food service. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

We had a fantastic stay here! We reserved a room for three people, and it was definitely worth it. The room was spacious and cozy, enhancing our experience. The balcony was a standout feature—offering a lovely view, a tranquil setting, and even a swing (jhoola) to unwind on. It was very refreshing and ideal for relaxing. The location is excellent if you want to avoid the busy areas of Rishikesh and enjoy some peace. For couples, this spot is perfect—quiet, scenic, and very comfortable. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and well worth the price. Highly recommended.

I needed to use the restroom, but since the spa's washroom was off-limits, I couldn't. Although rooms were free, the staff said they must start cleaning from the ground floor to save time, so no early check-in before 1 pm was possible, even if paid. I had to hold my pee, which I'd been holding for 3 hours. Overall, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Just so you know, I also work in the tourism industry.🥰

During my trip to Rishikesh, I enjoyed staying at Swiss Cottage for a portion of my journey. If you're looking for a peaceful and secluded spot to relax, Swiss Cottage offers tranquility. It's situated just next to the lively area of Rishikesh, and I liked walking up to Tapovan for meals and tea, then spending time by the Ganga river. In the evenings, I returned to Swiss Cottage, closer to the trees and away from the street noise. You can also rent a scooter or auto nearby the entrance. The rooms are tidy, everything functions well, the bed is cozy, and the sheets are soft. Unlike many hotels in India, this one provided a kettle in the room, which made me feel at home. The staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I also enjoyed a wonderful full body massage at Swiss Cottage, so on a relaxed day, you can easily walk a minute from your room to enjoy a massage of your choice. Special thanks to Ishan for making my stay warm and comfortable; he is a charming host who genuinely cares about his guests and their experience. My time at Swiss Cottage was unforgettable, and I recommend it to travelers who appreciate quality. Thanks to Ishan and the team for making my visit to Rishikesh so lovely.
