Great place, tidy and clean, with very polite staff and delicious food. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a great experience driving up to this place from NCR. The drive itself was great with the rainy weather making it seem quite ethereal. Do note that last 2 kms is down a narrow road (single vehicle). Drive slow and be careful.The Retreat offers the promise of a great view of the valley, mountains, and sneak view of the Tehri Dam and Lake. However, having driven up there during the rains we caught mostly clouds. With the sun playing hide and seek, we could realise through wisps of clouds of the view that lay before us. The sunrise should be great here.The food though left us wanting a fair bit. It was average at best. Considering the remote location, one needs the food to be above par, which sadly wasn't the case. Avoid the coffee, stick to tea. The property could with a bit of general upkeep which could have been a side effect of the inclement weather. So benefit of doubt there.The staff was extremely helpful. Bittu was particularly helpful. The man was around tk support the stay from the moment we checked in to when we checked out. Seek him out. He loves to help.Things to do: Nothing much to do here except sit back and enjoy the quiet. Take a walk along the trails (starts right outside the gates). Drive down to Tehri Dam (on of the highest dams in the world, 4 highest of its kind). One could even venture ahead to the lake shores and partake in water activities.Overall for me, it is worth a night's stay as part of a larger itinerary. Not more purely because of the food.

A Heartfelt Commendation for an Exceptional School Residential Program ExperienceStay : 23rd May - 26th May 2026I recently had the pleasure of serving as the lead facilitator for a group of 38 grade 9-10 students from Orissa for a 4-night stay at Tehri Retreat Sursingdhar, and I cannot praise the experience enough.From start to finish, every aspect of our stay’from the comfortable rooms to the engaging adventure activities’was top-notch.I want to extend a massive thank you to Amit ji, Dharam ji and entire team, their unwavering support was the reason our large group had such a successful and smooth experience.A huge shoutout to Harish ji and the kitchen team’every meal was absolutely delicious, fresh, and prepared with care. I especially appreciate Harish ji for going the extra mile to accommodate our requests, even at odd hours.My gratitude also goes to Anil ji for his seamless overall management, and a special thanks to Mr. Amit Dobhal, who personally reached out to ensure our stay was going well. The staff’s courtesy and helpfulness made us feel right at home.For anyone looking for a nature-filled retreat with outstanding hospitality, I highly recommend this property.

Everything about our stay was amazing. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and the food was delicious and fresh. The rooms were spotless, highlighting excellent cleanliness and hygiene standards. What truly stood out, though, was the warm and genuine hospitality from the staff. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable experience’highly recommended!

After tiring travel for a week for Gangotri and Yamunotri in third week of May 26, I stayed here one night with intention to relax and refresh before heading back home.As we checked in, we found a group of 80 students also checked in. They played games that involved yelling and shouting to their maximum potential, and it continued till evening. Then started DJ and bonfire till 9.30 pm right in front of our suite.I wish hotel has informed me about the school picnic; I would have cancelled and booked somewhere else. Those 80 students enjoyed the day, but my day was ruined.Next day morning was absolutely calm, pleasant and beautiful. The panoramic views of the majestic mountain ranges are phenomenal. At distance, part of the dam water lake was visible in the valley.There isn't much large open area in the property, but the narrow pathways are beautifully decorated with variety of plants and many were blooming with flowers. The gardener has done his job well.The room is nice and comfortable.The food was good too.Service is quick and and staff is friendly.
