The Gharana Hotel and Resort

We reserved and prepaid INR 2,453 for two rooms at this hotel via MakeMyTrip for our family, which included four adults and two children. Since hotel rooms typically accommodate two adults, we assumed two rooms would be sufficient for our group. However, we later found out the booking was made for only two adults in total. Upon arrival, we were told we had to pay extra for the additional adults or cancel and rebook. While trying to clarify the issue, the conversation became uncomfortable, and we realized no accommodation would be provided under our current booking. We were not given any room, no keys were handed over, and we never checked in or stayed in any room. Consequently, we had to leave and find another place to stay on short notice. This was especially challenging as we were traveling with two children and elderly family members. Having to find another hotel after arriving caused major inconvenience and disrupted our plans. My concern is not just about the occupancy issue but how it was handled and that we left without any room despite having a prepaid confirmed booking. The issue was later raised with the National Consumer Helpline (NCH). In their response via MakeMyTrip, it was incorrectly stated that six adults were traveling. The group actually consisted of four adults, one child aged nine, and one infant aged one. This wrong information was shared through MakeMyTrip on the NCH platform.

The staff were very polite and behaved excellently.

The place is very nice and the swimming pool is great. The room is decent. The service is excellent. The food quality is also excellent. Overall, we really enjoyed the hotel.
