Udaan Dekeling Resort, Darjeeling

My experience at this hotel was unsatisfactory due to multiple problems: the center table in the room was damaged; there was no wardrobe or almirah for storing luggage and clothes; the room felt damp, had a constant unpleasant smell, and seemed poorly maintained; insects were present inside the room; basic items like body lotion were only provided upon request; the cushions were dirty with noticeable stains; the bed was very uncomfortable; I would not suggest this hotel for elderly visitors because the path to the lobby is very steep and hard to navigate; there was no designated parking area; the rooms were quite small, and we had to remove furniture to fit an extra bed; the bathroom lacked a glass shower partition, leading to water spreading on the floor. Overall, the hotel requires major improvements in cleanliness, upkeep, comfort, and accessibility before I could recommend it.

Basic items like body lotion were only provided upon request. The cushions were stained and dirty, and the bed was very uncomfortable, making restful sleep difficult. The rooms were very small; after adding an extra bed, we had to remove some furniture just to have enough space to move. The bathroom lacked a proper glass partition for the shower, causing water to spread all over the floor. There was no designated parking area, which is inconvenient for guests with cars. Most importantly, I would not suggest this hotel for elderly guests because the approach to the lobby is very steep and challenging for seniors or those with mobility problems. Overall, the property fell short of our expectations regarding comfort, cleanliness, and convenience. Although the staff were polite, the poor room conditions and absence of basic amenities made the stay unsatisfactory. I hope management takes steps to improve these issues for future guests.

To accommodate an extra bed, we had to move and remove furniture, leaving very little space to move around.* The washroom lacked a glass partition for the shower, causing water to spread across the bathroom.*It has a pure veg restaurant so not recommended for non vegetarian.Overall, the hotel falls short in terms of comfort, cleanliness, and basic facilities. Based on my experience, I would not recommend staying here, especially for families with elderly members.

I stayed here three years ago and still recall the warm hospitality. The rooms were very comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, and they served the best tea I've ever had.
