Shetty Lunch Home has always been on my bucket list whenever I think of Mangalore’s legendary food scene. Unfortunately, I couldn’t dine in this time, so I decided to experience it through a Swiggy order instead.I ordered neer dosa along with their iconic chicken ghee roast (half portion). The neer dosa was decent and paired well with the dish. The ghee roast, however, did not quite meet my expectations. While the aroma of ghee was clearly present, the masala itself didn’t appeal to my taste’it felt slightly over-fried and lacked the balance and depth I was expecting from such a celebrated dish. It’s also possible that the food being slightly cold by the time it reached me affected the overall experience.At a price of ’420+ for a half portion, I felt it was on the higher side, especially given that the taste didn’t fully justify the cost for me on this occasion.That said, this was a takeaway experience, and Shetty Lunch Home is known for its food when served fresh and hot. I still believe this is a place that deserves a proper dine-in visit before forming a final opinion. For now, the experience was average, but the bucket-list tick remains incomplete.

Had lunch here and it was a satisfying Mangalorean meal overall.We tried their Mangalore Chicken Ghee Roast, Neer Dosa, and Mutton Sukka.The ghee roast had excellent flavour and spice, but the chicken was a bit dry and hard, which slightly took away from the experience. Visited Shetty Lunch Home, Mangalore and really enjoyed the experience overall. The food was excellent ’ fresh, well-prepared, and full of authentic coastal flavours. The service was also prompt, courteous, and efficient.The only downside is the ambience, which feels quite old-style and a bit outdated compared to modern restaurants. That said, if you’re there for great food and reliable service, this place definitely delivers. Worth a visit for the cuisine.

We had a variety of seafood dishes, including the famous Ghee Roast Chicken, which they claim to have invented - and let me tell you, it lived up to the hype!The Anjal Ghee Fish Fry and Squid Ghee Roast were both lip-smacking good, and the Ghee Roast Chicken was out of this world. The service was also top-notch - our server was very polite and knowledgeable about the menu.My only suggestion would be to increase the staff during peak hours, as it got a bit slow. But overall, the food was so delicious that it was worth the wait.If you're looking for authentic Mangalorean cuisine, Shetty Lunch Home is a must-try.
