Indian Railways started 6 pairs of special trains on Mysuru-Hubbali, Mysuru-Vijaypura, Bengaluru-Mangaluru, Yeshwantpur-Kartar routes.

2. Installation of a number of solar plants at various stations by East Central Railways
East Central Railways is constantly working for environmental protection. A number of solar plants have been set up at various stations and railway buildings. The use of solar energy is being continuously increased.

3. Indian Green Building Council gives a Platinum rating to Visakhapatnam Railway Station
The Visakhapatnam Railway Station has bagged the platinum rating of the Indian Green Building Council, securing a total score of 82 points. IGCB, with the support of the Environmental Directorate of Indian Railways has developed the green railways stations rating system to facilitate the adoption of green concepts.
