Akanta Ayurveda & Yoga Cherai

After a month of traveling around India, this resort was literally a haven for me. Mainly because of the exceptional cleanliness and the extremely helpful staff.I have a special diet and the chefs were happy to prepare oil-free meals for me every day according to my needs. Their willingness and attention was truly exceptional.The room had a large window overlooking the lake, so nature was literally part of the space. The place include a garden full of flowers and shrubs with a swimming pool. I appreciated that the pool had real filtration (unlike many other pools I have seen in India) and the water was very clean.Every morning and evening, yoga and meditation took place on the hotel terrace, which was a beautiful start and end to the day. Thanks to the exercise, I even managed to move my sore arm.The gesture upon departure was also very nice: since the room was not occupied after me, the resort offered me a late check-out at no extra charge.An exceptionally pleasant place to which I would very much like to return.

My friend and I planned to stay at Akanta for the last 6 nights of our holiday in Kerala. This was the best decision ever. I cannot say enough about how attentive and caring the staff are at this resort. The resort is situated in a beautiful position with a river on one side and beach on the other. You can see both sunrise and sunset.Our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, daily yoga/meditation available, the treatments were incredible, the pool and gardens are exceptional well maintained and the food was some of the best we have experienced on our travels. Akanta has hit the mark with a quality stay with a very relaxed environment.What made it even more special was the support and care we received when we had to unexpectedly stay on due to the Middle East war/cancelled flights. We had issue extending our visa however, the staff were so helpful and accommodated our ever need. We really appreciate all your kindness. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Our 6 night stay at Akanta was a wonderful, relaxing end to our 3 week tour of Kerala. We cannot recommend this hotel more highly. It does not offer impersonal high luxury. It does offer comfortable, beautifully cleaned and prepared rooms. You can enjoy the shady, tranquility of the well maintaind gardens and sparkling pool with comfy loungers. The treatments are expertly given and help restore your body’s balance. The food is truly delicious, generous and beautifully served. Best of all though are the staff who calmly and kindly maintain this wonderful oasis for the guests. All staff from the amazing Ayurvedic doctors and therapists, the diligent room service staff, the chefs, the gardeners, the restaurant staff, the yoga teachers to the managers are friendly, calm and kind. The end of stay has coincided with the Middle East war and Akanta has gently supported us and cared for us in the stress of cancelled travels and overstayed visa issues. If you are stuck waiting to go home there is no better place to stay than Akanta.

This hotel had newly renovated rooms and older buildings which I was told is going to be renovatedAfter requesting better room for myself I was given a newly renovated spacious and clean room with Lakeview.The treatment and therapy were excellent.There are certain areas in the resort needs special attention for hygienic cleaning.1, area around the pool. There was some trash at the lake fence.Overflowing chamber had turned green with algae.2. Therapy rooms showers and toilet areas. The ceilings had cobwebs.3, pest control as I found large crispy crowlies 3 times in the bathrooms.4, Overflowing drainage system in the pool garden.5, generally keeping the compound clear of all trash.Its a very beautiful and picturesque resort, the staff were very friendly and caring.Menu could be more varied and creative, increase more ingredients, more exotic fruits a vegetables.

I recently stayed at Akanta Ayurveda and Yoga Cherai, and it was an experience that truly stayed with me.From the moment I arrived, the whole location felt completely zen ’ a place where all you have to do is breathe in, relax, and finally give yourself the time and space you deserve. There’s a calming energy throughout the property that instantly slows you down and invites you inward.The combination of two blissful Ayurvedic treatments a day, morning yoga sessions, and the most incredible Kerala dishes nourished me inside and out. Every element worked together so beautifully ’ healing therapies, mindful movement, and food prepared with such care. You don’t just feel relaxed; you feel restored.A very special mention to my therapist, Nisha ’ she was truly unbelievable. She has magic hands. Aches and pains that I had been carrying for weeks simply melted away within just two days. But beyond her skill, it was her demeanour that made the difference. Everything about her was rooted in care and a genuine desire to make you feel your absolute best. I highly, highly recommend requesting her.This place has all the foundations to become a luxury Ayurvedic holistic retreat. The setting, the treatments, the intention ’ it’s all there. With a little refinement in the finer details (which they are clearly already working towards), it has the potential to be exceptional.If you’re looking for somewhere to reset your body, calm your mind, and reconnect with yourself, this is it. I highly recommend it ’ and I will absolutely be back.
