Club Mahindra Munnar

I am writing this review to express my deep disappointment with our recent stay at Club Mahindra Munnar. As members, we expect a certain level of exclusivity and safety, but this experience proved that the resort has lost its standards.’The biggest issue was the behavior of other guests’specifically a group of Cholamandalam employees. After consuming alcohol, they began misbehaving and acting disrespectfully toward families. It was an incredibly uncomfortable and intimidating environment for my family. This highlights a major problem: Club Mahindra is no longer "exclusive" for members. They are entertaining non-members through various booking portals and direct dealings, which has significantly degraded the crowd quality and the overall "family-friendly" atmosphere.’Furthermore, we were assigned a ground-floor room that was poorly maintained. The room was infested with lizards and insects. Having a 2-year-old baby with us, this made our holiday very scary and stressful rather than relaxing. We constantly had to be on guard for our child’s safety.’Between the lack of exclusivity, the unruly behavior of non-member corporate groups, and the lack of basic room hygiene, I can no longer recommend this property. Club Mahindra needs to decide if they are a private members' club or a public hotel, because right now, members are paying the price for their lack of oversight.

My husband and I, both senior citizens, recently had a very pleasant stay at Lake View Mahindra resort in Munnar. I would like to make a special mention of 1. Mr.Sumesh and his team, who were very proactive and helpful with whatever help we asked for. 2.Also, the doctor at the Spa was extremely helpful and courteous when we needed help as my husband met with an unfortunate accident during the jungle safari 3. ChefOm Prakash and Arul prakash, who work hard to serve world class desserts for the buffet everyday. The stewards in the tea room also were ever smiling and courteous. All in all, the staff is courteous and made sure that we have a memorable holiday. Thank you Club Mahindra for the excellent training you give to your staff.

My recent stay at Club Mahindra Munnar was a mixed experience and, unfortunately, the most disappointing among all Club Mahindra properties I have visited so far. While the location offers breathtaking natural beauty, several operational and maintenance issues significantly reduced the overall experience.The biggest positive of this resort is undoubtedly the view. Nestled amidst lush greenery and rolling hills, the scenic surroundings are truly spectacular. The serene atmosphere and panoramic landscapes are exactly what one expects from a hill station like Munnar. Waking up to mist-covered mountains and dense forests is an experience worth appreciating and remains the strongest highlight of this property.The rooms, in terms of size and layout, are fairly good, and the overall ambience is pleasant. However, the rooms are not properly maintained, which was disappointing. The ambience could have been excellent if regular maintenance had been ensured.The service was another major concern. The staff, though polite, appeared overwhelmed and insufficient in number. Response times were slow, and simple requests took an unusually long time to be addressed. This gave an impression of understaffing and poor service coordination, which directly affected guest comfort.The most significant problem, however, was the hotel transportation system. The approach road to the resort is in very poor condition’uneven, narrow, and difficult to navigate. Given this reality, internal hotel transportation becomes crucial. Unfortunately, the number of vehicles available was very limited, leading to long waiting times. At times, it became frustrating to move between the rooms and common areas. The lack of adequate transport and staff management in this area seriously impacts accessibility, especially for elderly guests or families with children.The restaurant experience was relatively better. The dining area is decent, and the food quality is above average in taste. While the variety could be improved, the meals were satisfactory and one of the few aspects that met expectations.In conclusion, despite its excellent location and natural beauty, Club Mahindra Munnar falls short in several critical areas such as service efficiency, staffing, and transportation management. These issues overshadow the positives and make it difficult to fully enjoy the stay. This is the first Club Mahindra property where I felt compelled to give very low ratings, mainly because the experience did not align with the standards typically associated with the brand. With proper maintenance, improved staffing, and better transport arrangements, this resort has the potential to be much better than its current state.

We stayed at Lake View Munnar for five nights and, overall, had a very pleasant experience. The property offers a beautiful location and a serene atmosphere away from the city, making it an ideal place to relax. However, there are a few operational areas where the resort could further improve to consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.Staff & Service ExcellenceTravel Desk:The team was exceptionally friendly and proactive. Special appreciation to John, Elango, and Sajid for efficiently organizing our sightseeing logistics and ensuring a smooth experience throughout our stay.Restaurant Team:The hospitality at the restaurants was warm and welcoming. Venkataramana stood out for his cheerful demeanor and genuine passion for customer service. At the ’New Tea Room’ ?? la carte restaurant, Aditya managed multiple responsibilities single-handedly ’ from taking orders to billing and service ’ and did so commendably. Thanks also to Anjana, Sudip, and Jyoti for their consistent support and courteous service.Property & AmbienceThe resort offers picturesque views and a calm, scenic environment ’ truly ideal for unwinding and reconnecting with nature.’Areas of Improvement1.Room Service & HousekeepingBasic amenities such as towels, napkins, toiletries, and other essentials often had to be requested, instead of being replenished proactively. We also reported an issue with the bathroom that unfortunately remained unresolved until checkout.2.Billing & Checkout ProcessThe billing system needs greater accuracy and transparency. During checkout, I had to wait nearly an hour for clarification on certain line items, and was not provided copies of the corresponding invoices for verification. Additionally, I later received a call from the resort stating that an expense had been missed from the final bill ’ such instances can undermine customer trust and should ideally be addressed through stronger internal controls.’Overall, Lake View Munnar has a great team and an excellent location, and with improvements in operational efficiency and customer service processes, it has the potential to deliver an outstanding guest experience.

We stayed at this resort for two nights, and overall, our experience was below our expectations. Unfortunately, there was no hot water available for showers during our stay. We also noticed that basic amenities such as toilet paper and a napkin kit were not replenished in the room and had to be requested.After the room was cleaned, the towels were not replaced, and we had to ask for them later in the evening, which was inconvenient.The restaurant experience was average. The food options were quite repetitive, especially for breakfast and dinner, with limited variety.As this is promoted as a four star resort, we were expecting a higher level of service and hospitality. While there is potential, improvements in room maintenance and guest services would greatly enhance the overall experience. Based on our stay, we would not recommend this resort at this time.
