Nice hotel to stay under this tariff in Ramnad

Updated after a second visit (11–13) — the initial appeal has faded I wrote a review about this hotel around three years ago, soon after it opened, and then considered it my top choice in Ramnad. I stay here 6–7 days each month, so I've had ample opportunity to compare. This update is less favorable. Check-in: Slow. I arrived at 8:30 pm following a six-hour detour due to local unrest, and the front desk process dragged when all I wanted was a room key. Booking not honored: I reserved twin beds but was given a different setup. When the bellboy contacted reception for me, the response was a blunt "this is an online booking, this is what is booked," delivered with an attitude that made the point clear. I let it go. Special requests ignored: My Agoda booking requested non-smoking, high floor, twin beds, quiet room, arrival between 2–3 pm, and Sunday checkout at 2:30 pm. Only the high floor was fulfilled. Late checkout: Denied. They allowed only a one-hour grace period. Shower: Water pressure was so low that a quick bath took over 20 minutes. Parking: Not on-site. It's located two or three buildings away, without gates or security, and a "park at owner's risk" sign. To reach it, you must drive a full loop under the flyover and navigate a tight, narrow turn. Wi-Fi: Around 30 Mbps at best. My phone's 5G was about ten times faster. Billing: A Kinley water bottle priced at ₹20 was charged at ₹30 plus GST, and no bill was provided. Service culture: Everything was met with "it's policy." While policy has its place, it can't replace hospitality. Staff seemed trained to quote rules rather than resolve issues. Verdict: Average and not worth the price I paid. The property remains clean with decent ambiance and a good location near the Old Bus Stop, which earned my earlier positive review. However, at this price point, better options exist in Ramnad for both service and facilities, and even budget hotels treat guests more graciously. I won't be returning by default anymore. ----------------------- Previous Review ----------------------- New hotel in Ramnad with corporate-style management The front desk mixed up my booking and assigned a Standard Room (very small with a split bed, so I slept on a divan-style bed) instead of the Comfort room I booked. No bellboys or escorts to the room (understandable since my check-in was at 6:30 am). Pros: Clean property, great ambiance, location near Old Bus Stop, corporate-style management (rare in Ramnad), good restaurant ambiance. Cons: Food was average (promised to improve soon). Verdict: Better than other nearby hotels, will remain my preferred choice for the next 3-4 visits. Already booked for next month, hoping current issues are resolved before then.

Our stay at Coral Residency, Ramanathapuram was delightful. The atmosphere was nice, the hospitality welcoming, and the staff were polite and attentive. The food was outstanding — tasty, fresh, clean, and well made. The meals were served with great attention and definitely worth the cost. The cleanliness and overall service were just as commendable. Many thanks to the whole Coral Residency team for making our visit so pleasant and unforgettable. We really value your hospitality and hope to return soon. Strongly recommended!
