Fairfield by Marriott Dehradun

Had a very pleasant experience at Fairfield Dehradun. Room was sparkless clean and food at Pano restaurant was great. Ashish and Bhupender at the restaurant provided great service and also accomodated my requests for the tasting of local cuisine.

This property is in a great location, with close proximity to an abundance of dining options and activities in Dehradun. The restaurant on property is fantastic and the rooms are incredibly comfortable and modern. The restaurant staff is phenomenal and made my dining experience on both days exceptional. The fitness center and pool are both very nice as well.A few critical but important things I'd like to also mention is that the front office fell short of their word twice during my stay. As a Platinum member, at check in I was offered a welcome amenity to be delivered to the room. I stepped out almost immediately after checking in. Hours later upon my return, the amenity was not there. I returned to the front desk to inquire, to which they apologized and stated they would follow up and have it delivered. Yet again, It was never delivered. Secondly, I sent the team a chat for an additional comforter to be left in the room while I was out. Two hours after receiving confirmation that it would be sent, I returned to the room and it was not delivered. Although the front office team is incredibly warm and kind, there needs to be improvement in regards to follow through.Nonetheless, I would definitely return to this property and recommend it to others.

Racially Discriminated.Visited the restaurant last night and was reminded that ’hospitality’ clearly has selective definitions here.The staff seemed far more interested in interrogating me about ’where I am actually from’ than in, you know, doing their jobs. Despite explaining; multiple times, that my family has lived here for three generations, the questioning continued.’Ghar kahan hai aapka’? was asked repeatedly, as if being Bengali automatically disqualifies me from belonging to my own city, my own state.Let’s be clear: being made to justify your presence based on ethnicity or language is not curiosity, it’s casual othering.So yes, Bravo Marriott.Great food. Comfortable ambience.But the subtle xenophobia masquerading as small talk? Truly five-star. ’’’’’’Hospitality isn’t just about service, it’s about respect. And last night, that was conspicuously missing.
