Excellent hostel with good service, delicious food, and a convenient location. Imran Sayyad, the Community Manager, provides outstanding management and is very cooperative.

Our stay at Monkey Tribe was pleasant. The location is excellent, and Thapa and Shekhar were very friendly and helpful throughout. The café served delicious food with great service. However, cleanliness was a concern. We stayed in a semi-deluxe room for three days and expected higher standards given the price. Dead fly wings were found in balcony corners, and the bedsheet and quilt cover appeared unclean. We overheard a conversation implying the quilt cover might not have been changed after the previous guest, which raises serious hygiene issues. The games and common area needed more upkeep; the pool table was broken during our visit, and other amenities did not meet expectations. Also, the absence of blackout curtains meant the room became very bright at sunrise, making it hard to sleep. Overall, we liked the stay and valued the staff, location, food, and service. With improved cleanliness and maintenance, the experience would be much better. P.S. The WiFi was not very good.

We really enjoyed our stay at Monkey Tribe. The location is excellent, and the manager, Thapa, was very supportive and always ready to help whenever we needed anything. Shekhar from the staff was also very kind and helpful during our visit. The food at the hostel café was fantastic, and the service was excellent. Our only concern was with the cleanliness. We stayed in the semi-deluxe room for three days and, given the price, expected better attention to cleanliness. I understand that keeping the balcony spotless can be challenging, but there were dead fly wings in the balcony corners. The bedsheet and quilt cover also appeared not very clean. If they put more effort into room cleanliness, the overall experience would improve significantly. We also overheard a conversation implying the quilt cover might not have been changed after the previous guest left. If true, this is a serious hygiene issue that needs addressing. Another point is that the room lacks blackout curtains, so once the sun rises, the room becomes very bright, making it hard to sleep. In general, we had a pleasant stay and would recommend the place if these minor issues are resolved.

The location is excellent with stunning views. It offers everything needed for an ideal workation and the food is tasty. However, the photos are misleading. The in-house cafe has limited hours, so renting a bike is advisable since places in Munnar are spread out. Cleanliness is lacking and maintenance is poor; there was no bed lamp and the heater was faulty. The pictures definitely do not reflect reality. While the location is good, the hostel itself is not.

I had an excellent experience at this hotel. Definitely worth a visit!
