Hotel Meghalaya

I have been a regular customer of Meghalaya Hotel, frequently dining at Vaishali Restaurant and occasionally at Embers Fine Dine & Bar. After a long gap, we visited again on the occasion of Sankranti and this experience was extremely disappointing.The Achari Paneer Tikka was acceptable, but the Cut Mirchi Biryani was a complete disaster. It was not spicy at all and had absolutely no flavor. It felt like eating plain rice. This dish used to taste good earlier, but now the quality has clearly gone downhill. What made the experience worse was the pathetic service. While the person serving us was standing right in front of us, I clearly mentioned that the food was not good and that I could not find any flavor in it. He heard everything, yet showed zero concern or response completely careless and indifferent. There was no attempt to address the issue, no explanation, and no replacement offered. Only while we were leaving did he casually say ’sorry,’ which felt meaningless and purely for formality.Adding to this, the bill was brought to the table without us even asking for it, clearly giving the impression that the staff wanted us to leave and did not want us to order anything further.This level of food quality and service is unacceptable, especially from a place that once had a decent reputation. This visit was a complete letdown, and unless serious improvements are made, this is no longer a place I would recommend.

The restaurant is in a pathetic stste. The floor was dirty, had to tread carefully to avoid the dirt. No proper cleaning staff and the waiters were non responsive. You are lucky if you have ur order taken. Sambar idli was cold eben during the morning shift. No chutnees given until asked. Hope your experience is better.

I stayed hotel based on some reference from my freind. The hotel is an good property, Rooms are cozy but lot of Cockroaches will unrest you. Toilets are clear but issue with water clogging in near WC area and Wash Basin. Please insist on rooms on the new building that are from the second floor onwards. Rooms on the ground and first floor are really bad - poorly maintained and stinks of smoke.The south Indian breakfast was quite enjoyable but quiet costly affair 380Rs/ Person. 4 hour early check in charges is half of the room rent. Lunch is value for money.Will surely stay again if they improved and solved above issue.

Tasty food, nice ambience good parking for vehicles. But service is very poor. You can chosr the light food options Idly, Dosa, both veg and non veg noodles, fried rice etc. this restaurant is open until 2 am late night. So if you are late for dinner and every restaurant was closed then this restaurant is a good choice.Prices are a bit high but okay.
