Hotel Vrinda Orchid Inn

I chose Vrinda Orchid, Vrindavan for my stay after seeing appealing photos and positive reviews on Google. Confident in what I saw online, I paid in advance for three days. Sadly, the actual experience was far from what was promised, turning out to be one of the worst hotel stays for my family and me. Upon arrival, a strong unpleasant odor was noticeable throughout the hotel. Both rooms assigned to us lacked windows, making them feel cramped and poorly ventilated. The bathrooms were unacceptable, with sightings of lizards, rats, and cockroaches. The washbasin was dirty, the mirror was not clean, and even the shower water looked dirty. I reported these issues immediately to the receptionist and the manager, Mr. Lokesh Thakur, asking for fixes. The only response was sending housekeeping to clean the bathroom mirror; none of the major problems were resolved. Not wanting to spoil my family's spiritual visit to Vrindavan, I asked for a partial refund, requesting that one day's charge be kept and the rest refunded so we could move to another hotel. I also spoke with the owner, Mr. Saurabh, but after our first talk, he stopped responding despite my repeated calls. When I asked the manager for help, he replied, "Should I pay the refund from my own pocket?" Staff behavior became rude and unprofessional. Ultimately, I had to involve the police. After inspecting the hotel, they instructed management to process my refund. Only then did they refund the two days' amount. I did not want to write a negative review, but I feel obligated to share my experience to warn other families not to be misled by photos or reviews that don't reflect reality. Many visit Vrindavan seeking peace and devotion, and the last thing they want is added stress. I hope the management seriously considers this feedback and improves cleanliness, maintenance, customer service, and hospitality. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Friendly staff. Nice hotel. All the temples are close by.

The hotel is new but lacks an elevator, and all family rooms are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors, which is difficult for elderly guests who have to use the stairs. The staff isn't very helpful. Additionally, there are plumbing problems in the rooms and the washbasin is not installed correctly. Don't judge the hotel by its photos.
