I was charged additional 2000 rupees for my stay at Hotel Royal Palace because I have been told while booking I had only booked 2 persons instead of 4 persons in the group. My point is I have already booked 2 rooms that can accommodate 4 persons, so it should not make a difference if I bring 4 pax instead of 4 and being charged such high rate of 2000 rupees which is not fair. Traveled to so many countries where the hotel staff understands the situation and do not charge this additional amount but here they stuck to their view that it was Agodas issue and tariff would increase . Anyhow it does not matter as I already paid and left and not going to stay there again and I do not need any explanation as the damage has already been done.
I booked this hotel through Agoda and had a very disappointing experience at Le Royale Palace on 21st May 2026.After reaching the hotel around 5 PM with my family after a long journey, I stopped my car at the main entrance and waited for hotel staff to assist with unloading luggage. Another taxi stopped behind my vehicle and its driver suddenly started using abusive language in front of my family members even though I politely informed him that I would move the car once the luggage was unloaded.The most disappointing part was the lack of immediate support from hotel staff. Even though the incident happened directly at the hotel entrance, no staff member initially came forward to handle the situation or support us as guests. Assistance with luggage was also delayed significantly.As a family travelling from another state, this was a very stressful and embarrassing experience. Hotels should ensure proper guest assistance, better entrance management, and a safe respectful atmosphere for customers.Overall, very poor first impression and disappointing customer handling experience.
