The rooms were not cleaned, and the bathroom cleaning was inadequate. We are feeling very disappointed now. However, the restaurant service was good.

Solo Traveller • Jul 2026We reserved a room at Mayura Hotel for two days intending to take wedding photos and videos after my friend's wedding, but our stay was very disappointing. Upon arrival post-wedding, we began taking some photos in the lobby when suddenly the hotel owner, Mr. Rajendran, and his wife appeared. In front of everyone, he questioned the receptionist, asking who authorized the photoshoot, if the hotel belonged to her, and whether she had his permission. He embarrassed the receptionist publicly and immediately stopped our photoshoot. This was the first time we faced such disrespect at a hotel. If guests must get the Managing Director's approval to take photos in the lobby, this should be clearly stated before booking. We will not return to this hotel. Guruvayur has many better hotels that treat guests with respect. It felt like we needed permission for everything after checking in. The food was also very poor; the fish and chicken served seemed stale and unacceptable. I hope local food safety officials inspect this place. The rooms were not cleaned properly, and the overall service was unsatisfactory. Overall, this was one of our worst hotel experiences, and I would not recommend Mayura Hotel to anyone.
