Taj Usha Kiran Palace, Gwalior

I recently stayed at Taj Usha Kiran Palace, Gwalior with my family, and it was a truly delightful experience. The property beautifully preserves its heritage charm while seamlessly incorporating modern comforts, allowing you to feel immersed in royal history without compromising on luxury.The palace is intimate, with around 50 rooms, which adds to its exclusivity and personalized hospitality. The expansive greenery and well-maintained grounds enhance the overall serenity, and the large swimming pool is certainly one of the highlights. A unique and soulful touch is the in-house temple, where regular aarti adds to the cultural richness of the stay.What stood out the most was the exceptional service. The restaurant team went above and beyond’despite not having an elaborate buffet, they ensured every preference was catered to through thoughtful ?? la carte offerings. A special mention to the restaurant manager, a gracious and attentive lady, and Sooraj, whose warm and helpful service made our dining experience even more memorable.The location is also excellent, with key attraction "Scindia Palace" within walking distance, making it convenient for exploration.Overall, it was a memorable and enriching stay, marked by warmth, heritage, and impeccable hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience regal living in Gwalior.

Have never had such a connection with a hotel as here! From initial greet, to room, to the hugely atmospheric music and historic location for breakfast and supper there is nothing to not love. Can’t really describe how lovely this place is to stay!!!

Had a truly wonderful stay at Taj Usha Kiran Palace in Gwalior. From the moment you arrive, the welcome is unlike any other-complete with drums, horns, and rose petals cascading from the balcony above. For a brief moment, I felt like royalty (or perhaps a less-famous Taylor Swift!).The rooms are beautifully decorated (see attached photos) and thoughtfully prepared with fresh fruit and water replenished daily. The bathroom was well-equipped with every amenity one could possibly need.The hotel grounds are simply stunning, featuring two pools and immaculately maintained gardens that reflect the property’s heritage and care.We also spent time at the bar and enjoyed some excellent cocktails-having a drink in the mirrored train carriage is an absolute must. Additionally, my had a full-body massage at the spa with Ambika, a highly skilled therapist who managed to completely melt away all my stress.The service throughout our stay was exceptional. Special thanks to Sneha, Anil, Vijay, the restaurant assistant manager, and a waiter whose name began with S (apologies for forgetting!)- all of whom took genuine interest in making our experience memorable, often engaging with us about our day and where we were from.A couple of tips for future guests: don’t miss the hotel’s history tour and the beautiful lighting ceremony at 6pm.As a minor suggestion - and certainly not enough to detract from a 5-star experience -our room had a slight damp smell, likely due to the age of the property and limited ventilation (understandably due to mosquitoes). In similar heritage hotels, dehumidifiers were in the rooms, which could be a helpful addition here.It would also be great to see a shared gratuity box implemented, as we’ve experienced in other hotels. This makes it easier to tip team members we may only encounter briefly, such as in the evenings.Overall, an unforgettable stay, and we would happily return.

The hotel is beautiful and picturesque and the service is impeccable. Our check-in was smooth and they do a lil welcome with rose petals and the drums which is nice. The room was fantastic and spacious.However there are a few things the hotel needs to be careful of which are things that we take as a given in most Taj stays.1) Food at the Silver pavilion (non Indian cuisine) is not fresh. I ordered the avocado and chicken sandwich and both the avocado and chicken seemed stale - the sandwich was over stuffed making it unbearable to eat. When we complained the staff did a great job the next day where we eat Indian fare which was excellent especially the saag ghost.2) Breakfast is great but yet again the savouries section needs work - the tarts and doughnuts do not seem freshly baked at all. The Indian food is good and the service excellent.3) The towels in the room are worn out - and the toiletries need checking - the shampoo and the shower gel jars seem to carry the same liquid and the rack is greasy.The idea of the details is not to run down the hotel but to call out the need for attention to detail. This is a gorgeous property with fantastic staff and small changes could go aLong way in enhancing the customer experience.

Our family had the absolute pleasure of hosting my brother’s wedding celebrations at Taj Usha Kiran Palace, Gwalior on 7th & 8th February 2026. We had four beautiful events ’ Haldi, Sangeet, Wedding, and Reception ’ and every single one was executed flawlessly.From the very beginning till the final farewell, the entire team ’ be it the sales team, security staff, chefs, service crew, or operations ’ gave their best efforts in every small detail. Their professionalism, warmth, and dedication truly made our celebrations grand and stress-free.A very special mention to Deepanjali, who was associated with us from the very first call until the end of the events. Since we are not locals of Gwalior, we needed guidance beyond hotel-related matters as well, and she helped us with everything so patiently and sincerely. You did a splendid job and were a constant pillar of support throughout.Special appreciation to Soumya, who was by my side for both days. Whatever help I needed ’ big or small ’ she fulfilled it with complete responsibility and a calm smile. Your coordination and presence meant a lot to us.A heartfelt thanks to Chef Sumit and his entire kitchen team. He personally curated each event menu according to our preferences. And as we all know, weddings come with last-minute changes ’ yet the kitchen crew was extremely courteous and accommodating, ensuring everything was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious and appreciated by all our guests.Gratitude also to Pramod, Sourabh, Anil, Kartik, Surya, and Ujala for their contribution and seamless coordination in making every function smooth and memorable.Thank you, Taj Team, for making our family celebration such a grand success. You didn’t just host an event ’ you created memories for a lifetime. ’Highly recommended for weddings and special occasions!
